“WOW”
Very nice quiet place . Mywife and I arrived late Thursday evening and a letter welcoming to us was posted outside the office door . After going to our room we noticed how peaceful it was . No loud traffic noise or rowdy guests . The view from our room looking towards the Gulf of Mexico was nice . Very conveniently located , minutes from the pier and tourist shoppiong areas with trolly service to get you there . The rooms were spacious and very clean in appearance , and they smelled just as nice as they looked . I cant tell you how many places weve stayed with mildewy odors to them .( Not for long ! ) The pool was sparkling clear and we hung out there for two of our three days here . Even the two " house Kitty's " were very friendly and one even stood up to greet you every time you walked by and allowed you pet him . The rate we got was very affordable , and we will definately return as soon as we can . All in all , they get 5 out of 5 stars from us !
“Great Base for Seeing SW Florida”
We picked the hotel because of the positive reviews on Expedia, and found it was worth every penny. The owner seems to really enjoy life on the Gulf Coast, and it shines through in how hospitable he and the staff are to guests. Some of the guests have been coming there for many years, so it seems like many knew each other. They even had a fish fry / potluck dinner on Saturday evening when we were there! Dolphin Inn was listed as a 2-star hotel but we stayed in a cozy apartment with a small kitchen and space for at least 5 to sleep. Next time we travel down to SW Florida, I'll start by checking out availability at the Dolphin Inn.
“Beautiful Location, will return!”
I was very pleased with my lodging selection, The Dolphin Inn. The canal is beautiful. The pool was large, clean and uncrowded. We enjoyed the patio tables and the gas grill. The Kayaks were nice and we enjoyed our canal adventure in them. We fished from the docks and actually caught fish! The beach is across the street and is wide and uncrowded. We watched dolphins play! We reserved the less expensive room. It was small, but had everything we needed including a fridge, microwave, and a two burner stove. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We can't wat to return.
“you couldnt ask for better staff”
the room was clean and roomy. the staff is friendly and super nice.the back of the hotel you can fish from while the front is across the street from the beach the pool is great and the location rocks was a pleasure will stay there again .
“Perfect place for R&R”
The location was perfect and the staff was very friendly and helpful. No matter which way you walked there was water to relax by. The only downside is if you are interested in night life, of which there is none. For me those days are over and wanted rest and relaxation, so it was perfect for my needs. I would go back in a heartbeat.
“If ever in Ft. Myer again, I would certainly go back to this home away from home..just wonderful”
We stayed on the bottom facing the bay. One step out our door and we had a table with umbrella, every morning we had coffe and breck there...grills, dock with free use of kayaks. The room was a bit small BUT really perfect as we did not stay in there. There are beach chairs you can borrow/no fee, and beach towels! Beach is short walk on other side of street. The pool was perfect, and there is a community fridge, you should check there for catshup, mustard, paperplates, etc. before you buy and then leave similar when you leave. They have a freezer for a big bag you can put your name on..they have no ice machine, rooms have two ice trays and it was all we needed. The owners are super nice and seem to go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. We just loved this place and would recommend it to everyone..especially for the price. We took the trolly into town so we could drink, but when we came home too late for the trolly ride a taxi was only $8 from Time Square. Enjoyed all the restrauants except Wahoo Willies...the service was bad, the waiter had a bad attitude.
“Loved the Dolphin Inn”
We were very impressed with the Dolphin Inn. The Location of the hotel was PERFECT - at the quietest part of the beach. The Beach is much nicer and is much more expansive than on the other side of the island. The Hotel Pool was NICE and warm. I loved that there was a deep end. The rooms were also very nice. We had a one bedroom apartment, and it was nice! The hotel owners are very sweet, kind, considerate people. We loved our stay! Our only complaint is that there are chairs outside of each room. We could REALLY Hear our neighbors sitting outside our room. I had trouble sleeping the last night because of this, and we had an early morning flight. However, they did quiet down before 11:00 pm, which isn't unreasonable. If you have really RUDE guests, it could affect your stay. All in all, we had a FABULOUS Time and wouldn't hesitate to come back!
“quiet, comfortable and clean.”
Across street from beach. Owners were very nice and helpful. We loved our stay here, and will be going back. Room was clean and right on the bay. While we were there a manatee came to visit at the bay dock! We stayed a week and wished it were longer. Towels are provided for swimming. Pool was clean and clear.
“Would go back again”
Hotel was right across road from white sandy beach. We were early and our room wasn't ready so the owner, Travis kindly gave us the key to another room so we could change and leave our baggage and head off to the beach. He even supplied us with two beach towels and told us where the store room was so we could take chairs and an umbrella over to the beach. On our return our room was ready. we had the upper bay lanai room overlooking the key. A beautiful view. Travis even offered us the use of the kayaks and the boat. A really friendly hotel with a personal touch thats hard to beat.
“Gem hidden in plain sight”
We were greeted by the owner and were welcomed by name. The room was great and had all the cookware needed to prepare a nice dinner. There were even grills for our use on the deck overlooking the water. We were offered the use of over 300 movies on DVD but the setting was too good to be watching movies. The day we had to leave it was pouring down rain, good day for movies, maybe next time. We will go back next time we are in the area. Restaurant recommended was everything we wanted.

Fort Myers Beach, Florida, United States of America: Decidedly less ritzy than other Florida seaside towns, Fort Myers Beach is a favorite destination for families. Area singles, too, also pass the time here, especially at Lynn Hall Memorial Park and at Time Squares bars, restaurants, and shops. Casino gambling is mostly illegal in Florida; a Fort Myers Beach-based casino cruise flouts this ban by floating just beyond the long arm of the law.
