“Great Stay”

It was great. Whenever I visit Sanibel again, I will definitely stay here.

“Historic hotel with updated rooms”

The rooms are the cleanest I have seen, and our room had a big screened porch right on the Gulf. Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet.

“Paradise on Sanibel Island”

My wife and I lead a typical life of always being busy. So, when it comes to our annual vacation, I spend a lot of time researching destinations and hotels. Let me say this about the Island Inn on Sanibel Island, Florida... It is paradise here on earth. My wife's favorite activity on vacation is walking on the beach and the Island Inn offers one of the best beaches we have ever visited. The room was great, the staff was great, the restaurant was great. We don't always want to return to a place we have visited, but Island Inn is a MUST return for us.

“A day in paradise...”

My daughter and I enjoyed our brief stay and spoke of recommending to friends and returning back ourselves. We felt that for the price, the room/amenities were great. We were especially impressed with the cleanliness of the pool and friendliness of the staff. Only criticism would be that the breakfast could have been better, healthier, have more variety.

Great place to stay. Whish we had been able to stay much longer. Right on a beautiful beach. We could have not been treated better if it had been a five star resort.

“Ideal decompression”

Island Inn seems fairly unique in its spacious arrangement of buildings and gulf frontage. As opposed to condo-like highrises, the Inn has more of a welcome retro feel, yet well maintained and quite comfortable. It's ideal for families with plenty of space (extensive property) and a short hop to restaurants, Bailey's Hardware and Supermarket and to the Nature preserve. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner which may have been a mistake as most of the other popular eateries were underwhelming. This is a cool get-away spot for a week . . . and the air conditioning was more than adequate despite the 95 degree heat outside. . . . The staff was very accommodating as we had to change rooms because of a corner spot where internet was spotty. I would still recommend the older, lower rise buildings in terms of layout and space. Also a great place to rent or bring a bike.

“Relaxing”

The Island Inn offered a very relaxing environment. The breakfast buffet was satisfying, fresh and convenient - omelettes were the best. The office staff is friendly and helpful - heed their advice and recommendations. Room in Starky Lodge was comfortable and clean - my only complaint would be that the air conditioning unit did not keep up during an average April day - I'm sure that July must be much worse - but try not to spend so much time in your room that you even notice the heat!! The location can't be beat - great path for walking and biking into town - beach access is superb - we experienced a great sunrise, sunset and even a spectacular "moon-rise" over the water - easy drive up to Captiva. Look up John H, at Native Guides if you are intested in a personal boating excursion for fishing, shelling, etc - very knowledgeable and great rates! I would definitely come back to the Isalnd Inn and would recommend it to friends.

“beautiful on the beach”

We were late arriving and it was not a problem. Rooms were very comfortable and had a great view of the Gulf of Mexico. Plenty of shells on the beach. Beach chairs were provided to sun on the beach. Restaurant had execellent menu. Pool was a little small, but refreshing after swimming in ocean. They had shuffle-board courts and horse-shoe pits with all the equipment for guest to use. My wife loved it so much, she's ready to go back

“Would love to go again!”

The only negative was that the complimentary breakfast was disappointing - but that wouldn't put us off going again! Everything else was great!

“Great Price /Great value /Great People/Wonderful Time”

My wife and I stayed at the island Inn on Oct 15th-18th. We had a wonderful time and a very relaxing stay. For the money we would definately go back. The service from the ladies behind teh desk was great and any question we asked they helped us out with or had the anwser. The grounds were very clean. The room was clean and comfortable as well. The pool was great and the beach was wonderful. We both wished we could of stayed another 3-4 days. The only downside I had with the entire trip and this is not a knock on the hotel is it is expensive to eat out on the island. The only reason we would ever stay somwhere esle is because other htoels offer a full kitchenette. Great Stay we will be back
