Great vacation!

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Very quiet and close to the beach. Facilities were very clean and the staff were very friendly
Cons: Thought that the continental breakfast could be better; better options/variety. Great pastries, but would be nice to have other things than just sweet
Was just what my boyfriend and I was looking for. Someplace to kick back and relax.

Another week in paradise

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Cons: The beds are not the most comfortable but then I am kink of picky. Put chairs on beach for you so dont have to drag them down every day.
Location: Great location with nice beach for watching sunsets or swimming. Easy biking distance to Periwinkle way or Ding Darling.
Spent last week at the Island Inn. I dont know what else to say but that it was heaven. Clean comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and the most amazing sunsets. This was our second time staying at the Island Inn and we booked next years stay before we left.

Nice Location, On the Beach

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Beautiful Location right on the beach. Hotel is old. They have done a decent job keeping it updated. Price was pretty outrageous, but with Sanibel limiting supply on the island with non-franchise rules this is inevitable. (Prices will be high and quality will be lower). I have stayed in some pretty amazing hotels for half the cost of the Island Inn. If you are staying on Sanibel with the limited options available I would recommend this hotel.

Attend wedding on vacation for 3 adults and 2 kids

Posted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: Location and the kitchen also the beds and pull out bed were all comfortable.
Cons: breakfast and bathroom areas
Location: liked where it was located
Good stay, beach views are very good. Room was tight with pull out bed making it very crowded. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room but getting ready for the wedding was difficult with only one bathroom. Overall pleased with the stay liked where it was located and staff was friendly. Morning breakfast was good but not much selection.

Nice but little beach area.

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Not much.
Cons: See comments above.
Location: We rode bikes, kayaked in the Nature Preserve and did a lot of shelling. Nothing is very far on the Island.
Our room was ok but the beach area to sit on was almost non-existant. They charged extra for umbrella's (that you had to dig in yourself) and bike's. The air conditioning and the DVD player didn't work. The bed's were so close to the wall that you could only get out one side. Also the bed's were very uncomfortable (hard). There was no place to get food or drink for lunch if you were out at the pool or beach, very inconvenient. I wouldn't stay there again.

great resort on the beach

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: location, property
Great place to stay. We have two children ages 5 and 7 and it was perfect. Pool was awesome, warm and clean. Beach was great right there. Saw dolphins everyday right out in front. Room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Matthews Kitchen. Our maid was awesome. Great location close to restaurants, wildlife refuge, etc.

Close to the beach and shelling.

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: The shell cleaning station was a bonus.
Cons: Improve landscaping and level out parking lots.
Location: Doc Ford's down Rabbit Road (?) and the Lazy Flamingo on Periwinkle
Very nice overall. This Inn has various buildings and bungalows to choose to stay in. We were in the Kimball Lodge, which appeared to be the most modern. One item of note, due to current shifting tides (Feb 2014) it has very little beach left by the Inn. You have to walk down to Tarpon beach or further down towards Bowman's beach. Also, it is a bit of an "older" crowd who snowbird at the Inn for several months.
