“Pass this one by”

Very disastified as well as bording on scary! I opted for a smoking room which put me in a seperate building. ( Rm 161) BIG mistake! This seems to be the run down building with the weekly tennants in it. Groups of families living there and hanging out all over the breezeway. Carpets filthy. Holes in the window treatments. Fridge didn't work and was leaking all over the carpet. Shower had NO cold water! Only cold water in lower spiket. Bed was clean and comfortable. Mel's Diner next store excellent food. Check out clerk didn't ask how my stay was and I know why. I told her about the issues and she yelled over to the maintainance man who happened to be in the lobby to take a look. She didn't seem to care much and blew it off. I won't ever go back!!

“false advertisement”

the false advertisement refers to the "lack of" waffles at this location, the check in process was terrible because my daughter was guaranteed early check in yet upon arrival was told that there was not an early check in request for her room. the room was available but the guy was rude and refused to let her check in early. the ice machine closest to my room didn't work so i walked to the end of the hall to get ice, at which point I saw a maid pushing a cart full of sheets and towels as she smoked a cigarette, our a/c didn't cool so a maintenance guy came to spray the coils and he stunk...like he didn't use deodorant... there was gum stuck to one of the pillows, lamps on wall didn't work and the bulb in lamp by phone had a burned out bulb, 2 out of 5 of the rooms we had didn't have a microwave yet the website said ALL rooms had them..GM offered me "20 or 30 dollars" so that we could go next door for breakfast....5 rooms x 4 people per room=20 people....20 or 30 dollars won't buy even 1 waffle a piece. The GM had tobacco breath and I spelled it from 3 feet away.there are 2 good things about this location: big pool and water pressure in shower.we were there for a wedding and had 5 rooms, all of which had issues (rooms 112, 124, 126, 136, and 224). the location was great, plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, Mel's Diner is right next door and their food is amazing. I was going to stay at the Marriott close by but decided to stay here because my family was staying here.

Area recommendations

that depends on where they want to go, Ft. Myers beach is about 20 minutes away, Captiva Island is 40 minutes away and it is beautiful, stores and restaurants are very close to this hotel.

Mel's Diner is right next door and they have lunch specials until 4 P.M., amazing food at reasonable prices, there is a KFC buffet down the street as well as a Golden Corral...we ate at all 3...also a Pizza Hut, Dave's Famous Barbeque, and many other great restaurants

“No maid service”

This was our second stay at this hotel. Room and pool were clean, workers and front desk were very friendly, but we were extremely disappointed that we did not get room service. The maid stated that it was already 5:30 and the room before us would be the last one, so no room service for that day. Very disappointed, but aside from that, would recommend this hotel.

“Good reasonable clean motel”

I felt the motel was clean and neat. The swimming pool was kept clean. The breakfast was okay. I would come back and stay again.

“Not a 4 star, but comfortable!”

The beds were very comfortable, but being a some what older hotel, carpet was a liitle worn & dirty, & some chipped paint, on doors. The breakfast was very, good, & they were very helpful, in letting me print up boarding passes, for our return flight home! Over all, it was not a 4 star, but for the time we spent there, it was OK.

“Godd if you're frugal and not picky”

Not nearly enough parking unless you wanted to walk around the buildings. The room was very clean but the bathroom ceiling needed repair. Apparently there was a major leak in the bathroom above us, so it was bubbled and falling off. The room air conditioner was very noisy, and there were no screens on the windows. On the upside, the pool was amazingly clean and lovely.

When to go

Avoid spring break if possible. The beaches are PACKED, traveling anywhere near the beach is OBSCENE, and the hotel becomes party-central.

“Experienced traveler.”

This is a great value. The lady on the desk was most helpful. The room was clean, very well furnished, and way more than I expected. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Ft. Myers. Will also recommend it to all who go. Mel's Diner next door is good foor for a fair price. Both the hotel and the diner are not ultra fancy, but a great value. I've paid a LOT more in this area and gotten a LOT less.
