Great beach; hotel is ok.

Location: Good location, close to grocery and restaurants.
Hotel is located on a great beach and has great beach access. The hotel itself has nice grounds and two nice pools, one of which is adults only. The hotel rooms are old and need updating. The kitchette was not very clean, cabinets were old and the A/C kept only part of the room comfortable. The screen to the deck was torn and the beds were moderate on comfort. Note that this is a three story facility with NO elevators, so be prepared to trudge your luggage up and down the stairs. For the price of the room (extra $$ per night for more than 2 per room + you forfeit a nights rental if you cancel), the hotel is not worth the cost.

Pros: Clean and in a quiet area
Location: Outlet Mall
Very clean, peaceful and friendly place to stay. White sandy beach with lots of shells. Having 2 pools to choose from was nice. Right on the beach.

Beach Resort Away from it All

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Amenities
Cons: The check in process is laborious.
Location: Some good restaurants and grocery store a very close by.
Property is very nice. Rooms have kitchenettes and there are bbq grills in the courtyard so you really wouldn't have to eat out. There is a Publix grocery store nearby. Location is perfect if you want peace and quiet but is challenging to get back and forth to Time Square (where all the FMB action is) due to traffic--would definitely recommend bikes but still 3 miles one way. There is a separate adult only pool which is nice. The Pink Shell on the other end of the island is a sister property which means you can access all of their luxurious facility amenities (three pools, beachside dining, spa, etc) which I would highly recommend taking advantage of as a nice day trip option.

Great location on the beach!

Posted Mar 31, 2015
This was our first get away to Ft. Myers Beach. We decided to spend the extra money and get a beachside room. Although it was a bit pricey, it was well worth it! The view of the Gulf and beach were great! There are wave runner rentals on the beach as well as beach lounge chairs with an umbrella for a $15 rental for the day. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only downfall to our visit, was the traffic- Estero Blvd. is a one lane in and one lane out road. It was very congested and traveling just 1 mile can take up to 30 minutes. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would return again.

Nice hotel. Family friendly

Posted Mar 30, 2015
We were primarily in Fort Myers Beach to attend some Red Sox spring training games and really enjoyed our stay at the sandpiper. The traffic getting on and off the island made the drive to the ballpark very long ! But the beach was worth it as long as you plan accordingly. There were lots of other families with children. We had an amazing view of the ocean from our room and the beach was incredible. The kids pool was very nice. They had coffee and cucumber water available all day for guests near the pool. While the room was nonsmoking there were ashtrays on the balcony and there was a faint cigarette odor in the room. I wish they would discourage smoking on property altogether.

2 days too short. Really loved our room. One suggestion: would have been nice to include coffee to go with coffe maker

Mysigt hotell på den fina stranden

Posted Feb 19, 2015

this hotel was more than we expected

this hotel was right on the beach unlike a lot of hotels at Fort Myers where you have a walk from the hotel to get to the beach even on beachfront properties very clean liked the two pools, adult and family. in the middle of Fort Myers beach so we didn't even rent a car just used the trolley

The Sandpiper has the best location and the most helpful staff...beautiful beach and just a bike ride or walk away from good food and good times...strongly recommend Heavenly Biscuits for breakfast and Ugly's (Nervous Nellies) for supper.....
