Perfect FAMILY getaway

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: EVERYTHING! esp trolley system and number of activities!
Cons: Varying food options at different price points. Kids tired of seafood and chicken tenders.
Had a wonderful 10 days - our 1st time to the Gulf Coast and it exceeded our expectations. Had plenty to do even with 3 days of rain! Only downside were not many food type choice options on Sanibel/Captiva and all priced the same. Expect $20+ entrees at all resturants, but most worth the price. Also, shop at PUBLIX grcery stre BEFORE entering island...

Es un enorme complejo vacacional, yo estaba en la parte sur, totalmente alejada El complejo tiene 2 toboganes de agua para niños, nada del otro mundo! La playa no es bonita!!! Si te gusta el golf entonces si el complejo vale la pena

Don't stay in the South Block- misleading photos

Posted Jul 20, 2015
My family and I booked a stay at South Seas Resort over the weekend. We had booked a king villa Bayside as there wasn't much else available at the time. Upon check-in very little information was given to us about the resort itself and the services provided. Our room was in the South End of the resort and we later found out that it is pretty far away from the 4 star area of the resort. We were very disappointed with our room, it was 2 Queens, had no resort information, the A/C system was terrible and again photographs were misleading. We had to go out of our way to seek very simple information about trolley times, restaurants, beach access etc.... If you book here ensure you stay at the North end. It is a world of difference and we didn't feel like we were apart of the resort at all. We would only come again if we Are guaranteed a room at harbourside/north end.

Great family vacation

Our family had a fantastic time at south seas captive island Florida. There are numerous things to do for all tastes. So many that I would like to have stayed longer. It is a bit pricey though!

4th summer in a row

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Pros: Quiet and peaceful get away.
Cons: Updated beach and tennis villas with larger bathrooms.
This resort has become our annual summer outing. The children really enjoy being at the resort. The beach and island are beautiful. We rent a golf cart each year for getting around the island. You can ride the trolley or bike but a golf cart allows for instant transportation and is fun for the kids. The villas could use a little renovation but it is decent for a beach resort. Also, the food on the island is mediocre and pricey. Dinner for 4 averaged around $125 per meal (2 adult and 2 kids' meals).

Underwhelmed

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Our room was run down and far from everything. The walk from our Bayside room to the trolley was about 2 blocks. Not bad unless you have 2 small odd and a baby and temperature in the 90's. The pools felt like jacuzzis but the kids did enjoy the water slides. Overall our one week vacation was just ok. the food was terrible & everything seemed triple overpriced.

Beach villa

Posted Jun 20, 2015
The condo was clean on arrival and then cleaned every morning including all the floors and dishes. Kitchen was well stocked. It was convient to the resort amenities and to Captiva village (off resort). Resort food was good and no more expensive or cheaper than other Captiva restaurants. We used the resort pool with water slides a lot so we got our money out of resort fee (which is per adult not kids).
