What A Disaster!!Posted Mar 2, 2014
I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. My wife's prescription drugs were stolen from our locked room while we were on the beach. We immediately reported this to management and hotel security. They said they would look into the matter. After that they would not return our calls and did not have the courtesy to apologize or offer to pay for replacement. Housekeeping would arrive late afternoon just when you are trying to get ready to go out for the evening. Some days they did not vacuum and spent less that 5 min. in the room. Once they picked up all the dirty linen and did not leave washcloths. It took two phone calls and over an hour to get washcloths back to the room so we could shower. Beds were comfortable but the bathrooms were deplorable. Bathrooms were not clean and needed paint and caulk. There are so many nice hotels on Sanibel but this is not one of them. Their hotel management and security needs a refresher course in customer service.

Great locationPosted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: The grounds were beautiful.
Cons: Update the bathrom.
This hotel has seen better days. Our room was spacious and nicely laid out. The bathroom was clean but needed repainting and new tile. We had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs.

Great Location - Friendly Staff - Good drinks!Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Proximity to beach - included rental amenities - friendly staff.
Cons: Internet service was really bad while we were there, but we didn't complain so maybe it could have been improved if we had made them aware of it?
Location: AWESOME LOCATION! Right on the beach, everything lots of things close by. Most are within biking distance, with a car only minutes away.
The proximity to the beach is fantastic. The pool and hot tub are nice, and great facilities for kids. Beach had some gross stuff (cow feet?) washing up on it, but the staff was down there trying to clean it up. Kayak rental, bikes, towels, sand toys all included with your stay. Very nice feature. If you have any actual work you need to accomplish while you are there, the the internet service is absolutely terrible, but since we were on vacation it is not a major complaint. The appliances in the 2 bedroom costal we stayed in could use an udpate, the TV's aren't HD, but again, on a vacation, not a major issue. Overall a positive experience, and we would definitely stay here again.

Nice stayPosted Feb 17, 2014
Great location the beach was beautiful. Pools are nice and well heated and kids lived water slide. I was bit disappointed there were not more resort activities or if there were they we not advertised. Would be nice if they had a coffee bar or gift/snack shop. Also spa was not finished yet this would have been a nice amenity.

Clean, safe condos on the beachPosted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Beach, location
Cons: Customer service
Location: Beach, Periwinkle, great restaurants (off hotel grounds)
The Sundial is advertising itself as a resort and spa. I just returned from our 6 day stay 02/04/2014 and it really isn't a resort and there is no spa. The condos are lovely and a one minute walk from the famous Sanibel beach. The resorts grounds are meticulous and just beautiful. However, the Sundial doesn't really have a resort feel. They advertise children's activities at the pool. I only saw the table set one day for the advertised activities and we were at the pool everyday for a few hours. There was one particular employee, Jean, whose job it is to set up beach chairs and umbrellas, who was very mean and rude when you asked for a beach chair and umbrella. There was also no housekeeping during our stay. We are a family of six, and I actually had to call and ask for clean towels on our fourth day.

Not a place to send even your worst friendsPosted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: Most things until the last day when we really needed them to come through for us.
Cons: Customer service!
Decent hotel. However, Winter storm Leon hits and leaves us stranded and they charged us triple the rate for the extra day. Hospitality, I think not!

Great location!Posted Feb 4, 2014
Cons: some of the decor was worn even though it had been recently updated
The Sundial is located nicely on Sanilbel and has great access to the beach. Some of the advertised amenities were not as nice as suggested, however the overall experience was good. Internet in building C was spotty which made it difficult to accomplish anything when the weather was bad for 2 days. We also were challenged in that the hotel staff ran over $500 in charges on our card that should not have been charged. This type of an oversight or mistake is not something that should ever occur.

Condo minimally furnishedPosted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: Pool had a slide and was warm for the kids. Beach towels and chairs provided for beach/pool. Seemed conveniently located.
Cons: The unit should be restocked and repaired.
Location: Close to beach. Close to local shopping including groceries.
The unit was a short walk to the beach - that was nice. The pool was warm and beach towels furnished. The condo unit lacked basic comforts. The shower in one of the 2 bathrooms did not work at all, we asked to not have any twin beds - we had twin beds, no sheets for the pull out sofa, soup spoons instead of teaspoons in kitchen, had to use the living room remote control for the bedroom as there was not a remote for the bedroom TV. The list could go on with little things but overall I will choose somewhere else next time.

Happy ending...Posted Jan 29, 2014
The first room my daughter and I were checked into had stained carpet and a view that overlooked a grassy area with a hot tub that was empty. I requested a new room. We were moved to a very large suite that was nicely decorated and perfect for a family of four. Full kitchen, dining area, living room, sitting room and large balcony.
