“About the same as other area hotels”
I think the bathrooms were being remodeled. The counter was real granite and the floors were new tile. The bathtub, though, was being held to the wall with screws. The walls were cinderblock. The bed was ok. I was disappointed in the hotel, but I think for the price in the area, this would be an average hotel. I've stayed in other hotels in this area and this hotel was similar to the others where I have stayed.
“Marginal Motel in a bad town”
Fort Stockton really is in the middle of nowhere with work crews from the local "wind farms" combining and forlorn travelers on I 10 for the majority of motel rooms. This motel was marginal in most every aspect. The first room that we were assigned to had not been cleaned and we arrived at dinnertime. After we complained, we were given another which had been cleaned but was very basic with worn carpet, running faucets, etc. The local workers were noisy most of the night. If I had to stay again in Fort Stockton I would shell out the money to stay at the highest end chain that exists there.
“Dirty”
Room was dirty, Internet didn't work. Bed was hard as a rock. What else can I say?
“One scary stay.”
A very old motel. My family of six was the only people on vacation, everyone else appeared to be migrant farm workers. One gentleman parked in front of my room stared all night at my front door from the front seat of his car. Everything was clean, but ancient. The continental breakfast was 2 apples and a bunch of bananas in a plastic bag for 6 people!
“awful thanks expedia”
Room was misnumbered, door jamb was rebuilt from a previous break in, interior was old and dirty looking, towels were extremely frayed and old, shampoo and little soap were awful. If I had not paid online through expedia and their high star rated property, I would have gone elsewhere. I also would have gone elsewhere anyway except that by the time I stopped I was so tired I had to rest. If I thought my car were any better at all I would have slept in it at a McDonalds parking lot. Do not rely on the expedia ratings at all. Go with a name brand. I will next time.
“Abysmal, even by Fort Stockton standards”
Demanded pet deposit in cash even though reservation specified one pet and that should have already been on credit card. No chain or other security feature on door and deadbolt was broken so I piled dog crate & luggage against the door the first night. Staff did fix It the next day. Carpet was filthy. Sheets had spots. Bottom sheet was not fitted and would not stay on mattress. Pillows were flat & hard. The bed itself, though, was quite comfortable. After I showered I noticed LONG hairs in the tub (I have very short hair). After the cleaning crew was in, bathroom smelled like urine; I imagine they had not cleaned their mops from another room. Cleaning crew started asking when I was leaving shortly after 8:00 a.m. even though checkout time is 11:00 a.m. When I asked for a do-not-disturb sign the clerk said that they did not have any. Walls were thin; I was awakened at 5:00 a.m. by the TV in the next room and by sounds from the adjoining bathroom. When checking out, I asked for a receipt for the $20 cash pet deposit and the clerk suddenly could not understand English.
