“Was not what I expected”

The hotel was misleading in the online ads, the hotel is old and does show it's age, used the hot tub and pool and they were satisfactory.

“Ok for the price.”

This hotel is located in a good area. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff was there every day. The staff were very nice and pleasant. The wireless internet did not work on the 6th floor, and the staff did not seem to know who to contact about it. The queen beds could use their mattress flipped as it was sagging on one side. Breakfast was good if you like sausage, biscuits, and gravy which I do.

“Ok for the price. Electrical issues. Fire started”

Room: Clean appearance. However, my sheets were stained, there was visible water damage on the ceiling (stayed on 4 of six floors) and stained carpet. Although there wasn't any noise fro adjacent rooms, I can hear EVERYTHING in the hallway. I had a corner room right outside of a hotel and it was hard to concentrate. I can understand every conversation. Wifi barely worked at all. Common spaces: Mediocre. Bare essentials for the Continental breakfast. No fresh fruit. Small pool and small hot tub. Area around the hot tub was not very clean. Fitness area was in the same room as the hot tub and was not well maintained at all. Used the treadmill and it squeaked. The bicycle didn't have the seat attached properly so it wasn't usable. The elliptical was rusted. Seems to be some electrical issues. While using the treadmill a fuse shorted across from me and started a small fire! Customer service: The staff I interacted with were nice and accommodating. People staying there: Mostly families. However, they didn't seem to respect the face. There were cigarette butts and bear cans in the hallways of the hotel, plus there was all of the noise in the hallways and the stairwells. Hotel is within walking distance of the beach and can see the beach from the hotel. It's off a major highway but the only major highway in the city, so it gets back up.

“One Problem”

My only complaint is that the shower wouldn't drain... Or so I thought... It did drain eventually ( about an hour later) and this was VERY inconvenient because there were 4 girls staying in the room, and after a day at the beach... Everyone needed/wanted a shower and didn't want to get in each others dirty shower water. I called the front desk and at first she didn't even suggest anything and then eventually said she would call a manager and call me back, but she never did. So we were subject to just wait. We would have been fine changing rooms, but when i called back (3x) there was no answer. However, besides that... Everything was fine.

“Great value”

The hotel room was very clean. Our room was on the ground floor so no view except the parking lot from our window. The pier and souvineer shops were an easy walk from the hotel. However, everything else was a short drive and getting into and out of the hotel parking lot could be a hassel at peak traffic times. The breakfast provided was good and filling. The price was great for a last minute deal. The hotel is not right on the beach, but is across a busy 4 lane road and not too far to walk.

“Don't Waste Your Time!”

Before I get to the bad, let me point out the good. The hotel is in a great location, the staff was very friendly and the food was pretty good. The gravy and sausage could use an upgrade, but the biscuits, waffles, bagles, muffins and danishes were excellent. Now to the bad. I booked non-smoking, got a smoking room and of course no vacancies for non-smoking. Room smelled horrible. Cleaning service made the beds, put out new towels, new toiletries and etc, but had not "cleaned". There was a black hair on the bed, I have blonde hair btw. I first thought maybe it was the maids' and had just fallen out while she was making the bed. Not the case, went into the bathroom, it had not been mopped, hair on the floor, a hair on the toilet, so I know it had not been cleaned and the straw that broke the camel's back, a hair in the shower. I mean, come on, would it had killed them to sweep and mop before we got there? It was very affordable and like I said, great location, but I will never, I repeat, Never, stay there again. Let me end my complaint with this, I'm not a hotel snob, it doesn't take much to please me, but I do like a clean room, I don't think that's too much to ask.

“For the money it's good enough”

The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was not what you would expect. Nothing healthy to eat. The beach was great and close. I think I might stay again.

“Disgusting!”

Thought I'd save money for one night! I learned a great lesson. It was Worst roach motel ever. Never stay if I were college bound either. Old soap, pee on floor! It had been updated, but still dirty and felt like bugs were crawling on us. I don't think it had been cleaned in weeks. People around the place were scary too! Employees seemed to be ok and presentable, which made me decide to stay the night, but I'll spend the extra $50 a night and stay some place else next time.

“Good value for the price”

The hotel was in a convenient location for us as we were visiting family in the area and still could enjoy all the surrounding attractions. It is a great value for the price. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. They serve breakfast daily of waffles you make yourself, cereal, coffee, juice, milk, muffins, boiled eggs, sausage,etc. All for free. If you need a 5-star hotel, this is not for you. But if you want a decent place to stay that won't break your pocketbook, then I recommend the Emerald Coast Inn.
