“Great Experience”

My husband and I went for a weekend getaway, but it turned into fleeing from Hurricane Gustav! The hotel was incredible, great views, beautiful rm, very attentive maid service. We would sit at sundown for 2 hrs sipping a drink on the spacious verandas by the pool overlooking Destin Harbor with lots of interesting boat traffic to enjoy. Would definitely go back. Emerald Grande has everything you need right there, no need to get in the car. We bought some groceries for lunches and light breakfast etc., but everything else you need is close by. A nice shuttle boat brings you across the canal to the beach, it's very convenient and chairs are already set out for you free of charge. The boat even has a bar! We had a wonderful time.

“Great Weekend”

My family of four booked a last minute weekend getaway. We booked the three bedroom, the pictures don't do the hotel justice. The room was spacious and could easily sleep eight, the kitchen was fully equipped w/stainless steel full sized appliances incl. toaster microwave and coffemaker. The beds were luxurious with two master suites and balconies off both. My husband and son took advantage of the free golf at a nearby country club while my daughter and I shopped.

“We'll be staying here next year.”

This hotel was beautiful. The rooms were decorated beautifully: marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, flat screens in every bedroom, etc. The water taxi that takes you to the beach area was great, service was great, etc. This hotel was definitely worth the money, and we'll be staying there next year as well.

“Great Resort”

Our two bedroom condo was one of the best I've ever stayed at. The condo was modern with nice furnishings.... even had a third small room with bunk-beds. (kids loved it) Fishing charters and boat rentals are on the dock next to the hotel. The private beach was nice which you are taken to by a water taxi. The pool is great for kids but not designed for adults so plan on being on the beach if you want to get away from the kids. Overall, this was the place to be in Destin.

Throughout all of our vacationing in beautiful Destin ,we've stayed at some awesome places.My family could not wait to try this new spot out. It was beautifl but i have stayed at better places. There was a shortage on drink/vending machines. We stayed on the 10th floor in a 3br/3ba condo & couldn't find a machine. When i asked staff they were dumbfounded. They didn't know what to tell us. Oh well. I won't stay there again merely because i felt that other resorts offered more. Don't fall in love with the looks.

“Has everything you need”

Very clean and has alot of thing to do. Still build shops and restaurants on deck level, but not a issuse. Hotel service is OK. Need to train employee better on all the extra's the resort has to offer. Very nice staff just not enought training to make it a 5 star. Would go back.

“Emerald Grand - Destin”

The hotel was great, with great amenities. Pros: everything we needed was available in the kitchen. Access to Harbor Walk was very convenient. The condo had great amenities, appliances and granite countertops. The parking deck was great for guest with card access on the upper levels and public access restricted to the first 4 levels. Cons: The advertisement for the Emerald Grand was a little misleading for someone who has never been to the Destin area. Water front does not mean beach front. I paid for a water front condo, but got a street front condo. It was a decent trade-off because I got an extra bedroom. Also water front = harbor view. Access to the private beach was by boat. I thought it was unique but not what I consider a plus considering the private beach was in a harbor cove filled with jelly fish. The cable television was out for two days in the living room; however it was working in the bedrooms. We requested extra towels in the room…It took 24 hours to get the extra towels. The parking deck was definitely a plus, however it was extremely dark. I did not feel comfortable walking or driving in the parking deck. It definitely needs more lighting. Overall I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

“hotel was great,, but the pool and beach is not so great”

only cons are that the indoor and outdoor pools are small and does not go any deeper than 4ft and you must get on a shuttle boat that leaves about every 15 minutes to and from to go to the beach, and the beach shuttle boat is only available up to 6pm.

“If you like the beach, don't stay here!”

First, about the hotel. The pool is very small and the elevators incredibly slow. They make you sign out towles yet you can't take them to their "beach". About the beach, they claim a "water taxi" will take you to a provate beach - HA! First of all you need to find where the water taxi is located and surprisingly enough that is NOT documented ANYWHERE and the only sign is at the specific dock where you find the water taxi (by the time you find it the sign is worthless). Next, there is only one boat and it fits 20 people. We went mid-week and spent almost an HOUR waiting to get on the boat - and it was partially raining!!! The area you have to wait is uncovered and hot as hades. The "beach" they take you to is directly across the harbor and is not really a beach - it is a COVE. The water is BRAKISH and filled with fish. There are ZERO waves. Great if you want to wade in still, greenish water. What a travesty. For the money they charge for a room they should have multiple "water taxis", a covered waiting area with a few fans. A REAL beach would also be a plus. Furthermore, I felt "duped" by Expedia and the ORIGINAL hotel we booked - we paid in full and THREE days later were told that the place we PAID for was overbooked. Not quite sure why that became my problem since we already PAID. Expedia people "helped" to find us this place but they should have been more knowledgeable about the resort they suggested. Just BAD BUSINESS if you ask me.
