“'room with a view'”

WE WENT TO STAY AT BEACH AT THE END OF NOV. WE WERE RIGHT ON THE BEACH AND BALCONY OVERLOOKED THE OCEAN AS WELL. THE HOTEL IS OLDER BUT THEY WERE DOING UPGRADES. THERE WAS A HEATED POOL OUTDOORS AND A HOT TUB.WOULD CONSIDER GOING AGAIN.

THIS HOTEL IS VERY CLOSE TO EGLIN AFB. IF YOU ARE MILITARY OR RETIRED MILITARY THERE IS A GREAT COMMISSARY AND BX.

“Really enjoyed our stay”

We really enjoyed our stay here. I loved having the stand up shower and the bath with shower in the bathroom. Having a safe in the room was a bonus. Only one complaint...the front desk hotel staff...they were not as friendly as I would have liked and they seemed more interested with having their own conversations than with helping us check in and out...but everyone else was friendly and helpful. I loved the fact that they had two pools and a bar by one and they even had free dvd rentals. The food at the hotel was good. Was not impressed at all with the "laundry room" it was a washer and dryer stacked behind a door and they only had about three of them in different locations...the beach was beautiful but had sea weed in it everyday...we stayed in july/aug. We were on the bottom floor and were glad we didn't have to take any elevators bec. The wait to get one seemed long but the hotel was packed. It was very clean inside and out but it was hard finding a parking spot...overall we enjoyed ourselves... just wished the staff were friendlier

“Fine Time in Ft Walton”

Decent hotel for money, location and timing of vacation (JULY - peek of summer vacations). Rooms where clean, hotel staff friendly and accommodating. Pool gets really crowded; get there early for a good spot. A plus was free DVDs to watch as the family was winding down at night.

“great place to stay”

We were only able to stay a couple of days, but enjoyed every minute. The day we arrived (Friday) traffic was very hetic in the parking lot, but every other time going in and out was easy. Bar and grill was right by the door in and out of our room; food smelled wonderful, cigarette smoke not so. Really nice pools; but no view of gulf from pool due to huge sand dune. Up and down steps to get to beach; but beach was beautiful.

“They need help at front desk!!!”

When we checked in our room wasn't ready so they put us in another room for the first night. The next morning we loaded everything back in our SUV and waited until late that evening before they told us our room was ready, only to be told we were going back to the same room we had just moved out of. We never got the room we were suppose to have reservations for. We had my 76 year old handicapped mother with us so this was very inconvenient. Other than that everything else was OK.

“Great Beach!”

Wonderful beach and the pools are great (one for kids, one for adults). Carpets desperately needed cleaning, but rooms otherwise are in acceptable shape. Staff is very helpful and the restaurant had a very good breakfast buffet available. Best part is the beach location with complimentary beach chairs and beach umbrellas - very relaxing.

“Lots of good, some average”

The hotel is located right on the beach and has some great amenities. I loved the fact that it had two pools, DVD rentals and movie night at the pool. I also enjoyed the free beach chairs and umbrellas (although they put them up way too early). The staff was very friendly and seemed to want to help guests. Even though this is a large hotel, it never felt crowded either at the beach or in the pool. The room itself was disappointing. It was not decorated at all. It was in serious need of cosmetic renovations, especially in the bathroom. Overall, it had a very spartan feel to it. However, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was very powerful (in a good way). You shouldn't be spending much time in your room on a beach trip, so I can't get too upset with the quality of the room. Still, for the price, I expected much, much more from the room. The location, amenities and the staff make up for the disappointing room. I would consider staying at this hotel again.

“first visit-would definitely return”

the holiday inn resort was ideally situated on a beautiful white beach. two outside pools and a hot tub complemented the beach. it could use a breakfast buffet, preferably included in the rate. hotel restaurant had limited menu. nearest restaurants were one mile away. poolside childrens films three nights a week was very nice for kids. beach chairs and umbrellas included was also, very nice.
