Ice Skating
For guests who miss the cold and ice, the ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf is the perfect opportunity to get into the winter spirit. The seasonal ice skating rink has become a local holiday favorite. For USD 10.00 guests can skate for an hour and a half. Skate rental is available for USD 2.00. The first hour of each day is reserved for "Kids Skate" for children 12 and under. Open until February 5, 2012.
The 23rd Annual Sandestin Gumbo Cook-off is back at The Village of Baytowne Wharf February 18, 2012
Guests can sample gumbo and Bloody Mary's, voting for their favorite as People's Choice. Celebrity judges will hold blind judging contests for the Area's Best awards for gumbo. The award for Best Display, which goes to the business or restaurant with the most innovative booth, will also be announced. Ticket holders will enjoy family entertainment and live music throughout the entire weekend.
Fat Tuesday
"Laissez les bon temps rouler" (let the good times roll) with the 10th annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade rolling through Sandestin. Yell "throw me something mister" as unique and colorful floats, golf carts, and pick-up trucks roll down the streets and marchers dressed up in all their Mardi Gras best shower parade-goers with a barrage of beads, moon pies, and other trinkets. The post-parade celebration continues into the night with street performers, "throws" tossed from balconies on Main Street, and parties at various Baytowne establishments.
Wednesday Night Concert Series at The Village of Baytowne Wharf
In a continuation of the Wednesday Night Concert Series, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort will be scouting new talent from a variety of genres to entertain the guests and homeowners. All performances are held in the Village Events Plaza, and admission is free and open to the public. Subject to change based upon weather.
