Not a golfer

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: You did not even need to leave the property. So much to do and see.
Cons: Resort fees should be disclosed ahead of time so you know the ACTUAL price when you book!
Location: It's Destin! Need I say more?
You don't need to be a golfer to stay here. It was a wonderful experience!

Huge facility...difficult to get around.

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Cons: The tram service is manned by grumpy old men and is erratic.
Location: Destin is beautiful...and very crowded.
While an older property, Le Ciel at Sandestin has beed refurbished nicely.

By the bay....broken room

Wasn't impressed...resort fee too high. You can only go to certain pools. Broken doors and bathroom fixtures

Nice quiet area

Posted Apr 4, 2014
We stayed in the LeCeil area and it was pleasantly quiet, clean, and our room looked over the bay. The restaurant next door, Another Broken Egg, was fabulous and we ate there every day! If you wanted more activity, all you had to do was go to the beach area or to Baytowne Village. We were impressed with the entire property.

Hotel okay, resort beautiful

We will definitely stay at this resort again but in a different building. We stayed at Le Ciel and the rooms were very clean and updated but the building just seemed old. The exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a jet was taking off. Beds were comfy but small. Room was also on the smaller side but we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room. I'd recommend this resort just stay in a different building.

Wasn't what we expected....

Posted Mar 14, 2014
Pros: Very nice pool and clean rooms.
We were told our room had a view of the water and actually what we had was a view of the parking lot and across the parking lot there was a small pond on the golf course which I suppose was our "water view."

Disappointing accomodations

Posted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: The resort amenities.
Cons: New mattresses and appropriate mattress pads, sheets, bedding, etc.
The first room we were given did not have a mattress pad on the bed, and the sheets had stains on them. We requested another room. The second room was much cleaner, but there wasn't a box springs under the mattress, so the mattress was very uncomfortable.

Family Friendly Resort

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: The scenery and room size.
The resort is quite large with a Beach side and a Bay side. Our stay was on the Bay side. The room was nice and clean with hardwood floors, a mini fridge and kitchenette, a small table for eating or using your laptop, a small TV (19"-21") and DVD player, a large bath/shower, two queen sized beds and balcony patio. Had I intended to stay more than one night, it was a perfect setting for a pleasant stay. The weather was not on our side, else I would have loved to have some friends stop by to have drinks or breakfast on the patio! The Grande and surrounding buildings are breathtaking. Beautiful landscaping and well kept grounds and golf courses throughout lend to the true resort feel and a feeling of really 'getting away from it all.' The bay side of the resort also has BayTowne Wharf and the Village, an inner tourist city with shops, restaurants, bars/pubs, and entertainment for all ages. Children of all ages will enjoy even a short stay in this resort. And if you're here for a longer stay, the surrounding area in Sandestin and Destin have plenty to offer as well!
