“Spring Break Stay”
The room was much cleaner than expected. The staff was very helpful. I would recommend bringing any extras you might need - not borrowing from the front desk. (blow dryer, iron, etc).
“Cheap but needs work.”
Great price but there were issues. Internet only worked in lobby/pool area. Breakfast was individually wrapped snack cakes and coffee off the lobby and not available until doors were unlocked at 8:30am each morning. Light in bathroom hung by wires from ceiling. Popcorn ceiling finish fell from ceiling a couple times a day covering the desk in the room. We stayed 4 nights and had to return to the lobby each day to have the keycards rekeyed. Across the road from a nightclub, could hear the "thumping" at night. Lobby personnel were very friendly and helpful. For a few dollars more we would have saved money in a hotel with a real breakfast.
“Cheap Price, Cheap Experience”
You definitely get what you pay for with this one. The hotel was in pretty bad condition, and the room was very damp! Extremely damp. One morning my husband was putting on his flip flops, and they were even damp from sitting on the floor! Even the sheets were slightly damp. However, overall we didn't mind because our intention was to be out and about shopping and on the beach, so it didn't matter too much about the room. However, if you are looking to remain in the hotel for an extended period or have children, I would recommend going someplace else. Last but not least, the location was great for the city, but not for the beach.
“OK, for the money.”
It's was ok for the money. It was a place to lay your head and get a shower. It wasn't fancy by no means and it could use some work.
“Just a place to sleep.”
This hotel is an older hotel - the location is good, the rooms are in fair shape for their age.
“cheap & good location”
you get what you pay for and the same applies for hotels Village inn has a great location but it is on the low end of the totem pole for the area. Could have stay in a nicer place but Village inn is pet friendly its a short walking distance from several places to eat and hang out at
“not bad for the money”
the only think that was bad where our bed was like sleeping on a hard floor they really need to get some new bed , and the free breakfast was coffee and juice and some snack cakes . but over all it was not bad like some of the other reviews said .
“Excellent location, but needed a lot of upgrades..”
Our hotel room was clean. The location is excellent because it was literally a block down from the HARBORWALK area. It definitely needs a new door because I could atleast 1/2 an inch of light along the opening and if it was windy, we would be in trouble because it would be very loud and dust would definitely have no problem finding its way in. The sink is outside the bathroom, at first I thought it was odd, but after awhile I find it actually convenient. I would definitely recommend the hotel to have a new make over, but I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, the staff was excellent and helpful with places to go eat, see, and play.
“Destin,village inn”
Old hotel. Room smelled bad (musky). Staff was nice.
“End of March 2012 Stay at Village Inn”
Comfortable hotel in the heart of Destin, FL near the harbor. The VIllage Inn offers accommodations for a reasonable rate even at peak season. This hotel is close to restaurants and nightlife - you could literally walk to both. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. Noise level was minimal even during Spring Break. Hotel could use some updating from an external and internal perspective to be more appealing.
