“great weekend trip”

Unique experience. More of a cottage feel than hotel. The service was great and it was fun having bikes available to ride around the property. Great value for the deal!

“Mini home away from home”

The room was comfortable and well appointed. There was no housekeeping during stay which was no big deal but unexpected. All in all, very relaxing and will definately return.

“Serene area”

WaterSound is a beautiful area with a village-type atmosphere near the ocean. The walk to the beach is short, but the view of the ocean is limited from the gatehouse condos where we stayed. Some larger condos have an open beach view. The beach is private so there is plenty of pristine waterfront for walking and laying out in the sun. The resort has a small mini golf course, bikes to rent, (free last year), swimming pool and easy access to several quaint beach communities with a variety of restaurants and little shops. The on-site cafe was not open during the week. It had a nice breakfast menu last year. The area seems to be suffering somewhat from the downturn in the economy and many store fronts stood empty. It's not far from the outlets in Destin and shopping in Panama City if you have a car. All the major fast food chains are within 20 miles. The one disadvantage was the sporadic internet access. The condo was nicely appointed and comfortable, but there is no service for cleaning, trash removal or fresh towels, which is probably available on request. We did not get charged the daily fee. We felt safe and the gatehouse building is locked at night. It's a relaxing and quiet area away from rowdy spring breakers.

Too far from the pools and the beach. You must drive your car and this doesn't work well with small children. The size of the room and accomodations are nice otherwise.
