Great Place but Poor Directions from Expedia

Posted Sep 8, 2012
Overall, excellent. One complaint, primarily for Expedia: The email confirming my reservation gave an erroneous address and directions to the hotel. The address provided to me was 1313 E Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, which appeared at night to be a vacant space on a college campus. After a little investigating, we discovered the correct address, and were graciously directed there by the hotel manager. Expedia, please address this issue in the future; it can be quite frustrating, if not frightening, to seek (and find) an incorrect location for lodging at night in an unfamiliar city. Thank you.

Great hotel Better food!!!

Posted Sep 7, 2012
Pros: The great food!
Location: Very close to everything
Older hotel but older is better in this case. You heard "they don't build them like that anymore"how true. Very quite and clean unit. Big pool and courtyard. Nice friendly staff. Now I saved the best for last.We opted for the dinner and breakfast deal.WOW!The onsite resturant rivals any upper scale resturant you can visit. I had a cajun jambalaya with shrimp, chicken and sausage in a zesty red sauce over a bed of noodles. I thought I was in Nawlins instead of Ft. Wayne. My wife ordered the filet and it was better than the last one she had at Ruth C's. No kiddin I had a couple bites. We had to pay for our dinner drinks and a small upgrade for her filet, all of $6. After tipping our very nice waitress we spent around $20 for a great dinner that would have cost close to $100 at other resturants. After a very restful night of sleep we went back for our breakfast deal. We both ordered omelets, ham and cheese and a western, both came with fried potatoes and pancakes. Again WOW! More food than you can eat and it cost us nothing but a tip. The resturant staff is top notch. Our hats off to the chef. We will always stay here when visiting the Ft. Wayne area.Thank you Don Hall's guesthouse!

Good Value for the area

Usually stay at other nice hotels in the area but couldn't find a room due to events in the area. Got a room here and was pleasantly surprised. It's an older property but was comfortable and clean and was at least 40.00 cheaper than others. Would stay here again.
