TCU Campus Tour

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Comfortable beds.
Cons: Front desk personnel friendliness, suitable coffee cups, etc. in room.
Location: TCU, Fort Worth Zoo, downtown Fort Worth
The hotel was lovely, but the woman at the desk had little to no personality. I got the impression that I was interrupting her evening when I checked in, as well as when I came downstairs to make a purchase from the Courtyard market. Further, she placed us in a room that was at the very far end of the hotel despite the hotel not being completely booked. I never saw an elevator and was told to take the stairs to the 2nd floor, which I found quite surprising for a Courtyard. Oh well, I guess I got some extra exercise lugging my suitcase and belongings up the stairs and all the way down the hall to the end. Additionally, there was only one coffee cup in my room and it was not wrapped in plastic, so I was reluctant to make myself coffee in the morning.

hotel visit

Pros: not much, just a hotel
We had to ask for our room to be cleaned, it must have upset house keeping because all they did was make the bed. we later had to ask for clean towels. It was our 46th anniversary, the front desk recommended a very nice restaurant, which was great, said they would make our reservations, which they never did, thank goodness I double checked myself. The seating in our room and in the lobby was very uncomfortable.

Very close to downtown Ft. Worth

Pros: Roomy and very clean and quiet
Location: Close to Zoo, TCU and downtown Resturants within walking distance as well as gas stations!
Nice quiet room but beware - no elevators. Request a downstairs room if you have issues with mobility.

Nice but no elevator.

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Hotel is clean but no elevator. Just two stories but if don't want to carry heavy luggage up stairs then you need to try to get a first floor room. It's apparently a 30 year old hotel that Marriott has been updating over time and I was told at check out they are working on having an elevator installed. Would need to lower rate because of this inconvenience before I would suggest it to a friend.

Older Hotel

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff.. good location..
Cons: see above...
Upon checking in I had to look at three before I found one that didn't smell old/moldy... The hotel is a lot older than the pictures lead you to believe and needs to be updated in many areas... Pretty pricey really for what you get... I travel all over the world and know a good value.. this was not one of them...

Breakfaat

Unlike most Marriot hotels I have stayed in, the complimentary breakfast did not stand up to comparison. Instead of a buffet with options, choices were very limited and had to be ordered and the delivery time was too long. For this rason alone I would not recommend this hotel even though otherwise it was fine.

Class Reunion

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Convenient location to our reunion sites and several FW attractions.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Location: Right in the park on University Drive and near the museums, zoo and TCU.
The hotel allowed us a reserved meeting room for two days and we used it frequently, especially in the evenings. The rooms were very comfortable with easy access to the meeting room. I especially enjoyed the complimentary daily papers.

VERY RELAXING STAY

Posted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: The location, friendly staff and cleanliness.
Location: Riverfront walk/bike path across the street. Nice restaurant next door. New shopping/restaurant center a mile north of hotel.
I only stayed for one night but was greeted by a very friendly staff. For a small hotel, the lobby was nicely decorated with a clean, inviting bistro area. I never had to battle the traffic as I was given a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert and chose to walk next door to the Hofbrau Steakhouse and enjoyed a huge, delicious chicken fried steak, followed by yummy banana pudding!! The riverfront walk/bike path was just across the street from the hotel. My room was VERY clean and the bed so comfy I fell asleep early --- despite the fact that the hotel was full of teen or college ballteams. I never heard a sound after they entered their rooms at 9:30. I would definitely stay there again while in TX.
