Fortuna has some nice places to visit. The Reno's International Mini Golf and the Arenal Adventure World are two of the best.
It's no surprise Fortuna is a perennial favourite with vacationers from across the globe; the surrounding region features numerous wonderful attractions. Tilaran, is 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the east, while Aguas Zarcas is located 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the west.
Alajuela, is another good place to visit. It is approximately 15 miles (24 kilometers) from Fortuna and offers a diverse range of attractions, for example Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto, ARA Project and Central Park. Parque Nacional Juan Castro Blanco and Zoo Ave are just a few of the many other interesting attractions in Alajuela.
The area around Fortuna is known for its fine traditional villages; these are often portals into the area's colorful past.
Special interest tours are a great way to experience the places most visitors never see. So consider signing up for one of the guided nature walks.
Get familiar with Spanish to communicate with the locals in Fortuna. Knowing a range of practical phrases like "¿Querría bailar conmigo?", meaning "Would you like to dance with me?", can make your stay more enjoyable. Yet another interesting one to use "Este caballero pagará por todo" (This gentleman will pay for everything).
