The Fountain Hills Fountain is an extraordinary jet of water rising to a height of 330 feet (100 meters). Framed by green vegetation and rugged mountains, the glorious jet in the center of Fountain Lake is an unforgettable sight. Dine at one of the restaurants skirting Fountain Park with terraces providing views of the fountain.
Walk with your family along the scenic Lake Overlook Trail on the eastern side of Fountain Park. Capture photos of the spectacular water jet, which rises to extraordinary heights. The Fountain Hills Disc Golf Course is a great spot to play disc golf with your friends. Make your way around the perimeter of the lake to see the remarkable fountain from various angles.
At the southern end of the water, you’ll find the Veterans Memorial, featuring a green wall and archway, several plaques and a war tank with a raised cannon. Inspect the statue of an elderly war veteran raising his hand in salute to the memorial. Take a seat beside the memorial in the shade of the trees and watch people go by.
Let your kids frolic in the Fountain Hills Lake Playground and browse the works on display in the adjacent Fountain Hills Artists Gallery and the Emerson Art Gallery. When you’re hungry, choose from coffee shops, frozen yoghurt parlors and pizzerias with vistas of the fountain.
The fountain runs daily on the hour for 15 minutes from morning until evening. In strong winds, the pump is sometimes shut off. Fountain Park has restroom facilities by the southwestern corner of the lake.
The Fountain Hills Fountain is in the foothills of McDowell Mountain Regional Park, a little south of central Arizona. From nearby Phoenix, drive northeast for 32 miles (51 kilometers) to arrive here in about 45 minutes. Explore the surrounding area for other treasures such as Desert Vista Park, the Fountain Hills Community Center and the River of Time Museum.
