“Great experience”

Hotel Del Rey exceeded my expectations. The hotel was within a few blocks of the bus terminal, a bus stop, a super market, pharmacy, and several restaurants. Streets in the area were clean and safe. It was easy to get to both the Brazilian (about 30 min.) and Argentinian (about 60 min.) sides of Iguaçu Falls by bus. (Don't miss the Bird Park across from the entrance to the Brazilian falls.) My room was spotless. The breakfast (which came with the hotel stay) had a wide variety of excellent foods and for a additional reasonable price, one could enjoy an excellent dinner buffet in the dining room. My only complaint was that I thought the price of using their internet service was high (compared to other places I stayed in Brazil) but they kindly directed me to a place a block away where I could use a computer for less than half of their price. The staff was pleasant and helpful. When I left, they allowed me to pay part of the bill with pesos left over from my day in Argentina. I would definitely return to the Del Rey on my next trip.

“Perfect for visiting Iguazu Falls”

Great hotel for visiting Iguazu Falls from both the Brazil and Argentina sides. The only thing is that the hotel does not have an elevator. So, stay away if you cannot or prefer not using stairs.

Very pleasant experience at this hotel - great front desk service which really makes a difference when you arrive late at night. We spent two nights. Never found the new pool but didn´t have much time for it anyway. My daughter and uncle (senior) were both happy. However, given the lack of elevator service, this might not be a hotel for everyone but we were just one floor up and travel light. Breakfast buffet was great and there was a great restaurant down the street - Buffalo Branco. Hotel gave discount cards for restuarants and bird park. Tour service in hotel was okay but was not clear enough about documents required for visit to Argentine side. Recommend this one.

“Very close to the bus terminal, okay hotel”

This was a simple hotel but serviced the purpose (really who wants to spend too much time at the hotel when the falls arewaiting to be visited). It is situated about a block from the main bus terminal so getting to the airport, the Brazilian and the Argintinean side of the Falls and to Paraguay is just a few minutes walk and a few dollars. The wifi is not free (the description says available in the hotel rooms etc, just forgot to mention that you need to pay for it) which was very frustrating as this is pretty standard in South America, including countries like Bolivia and Peru! Breakfast is big, esp if you like sausages, ham and cake!! But there are healthy options too. Love that I could make a hot chocolate to have with breakfast

“Great Spot if Traveling to Iguazu”

Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to Iguazu Falls. Able to book a tour to either Brazil or Argentina side of the Falls, with a van picking you up at the hotel. Hotel was recently remodeled, so bathrooms are new and have big, nice showers. Close to great BBQ place, Buffalo Blanca, and bakery and grocery store so you can pack a lunch for a day at the Falls. Friendly, helpful staff spoke English well. Close to Paraguay if you want to cross the border to get cheap goods. If I ever go back to Foz, will definitely stay at Del Rey.

“Great bargain for the money”

My first impression of this hotel was not great, arriving at 1 am. But the check-in staff was very helpful and got me right into my room (321). The room was small but I wasn't in it much and it had most things I needed. I asked for and received a third pillow. The room safe was a few $s a day, same for the internet but both worked well and were easy to setup and use. The breakfast was great every day. The only downside was the lack of hot water. The shower was just warm (maybe 85F temperature) and the sink has only cold water for shaving. Other than that, the place was great, the staff super and helped me with my Portuguese, and it was very clean and conveniently located by the bus terminal. For the money, I don't think it can be beat. If you're on a budget like me and just want a nice clean basic room with good breakfast and good service, stay here. The onsite travel desk people were super helpful educating me on how to get to everything I wanted to see. If you're like me, a traveler who has never been to Foz do Iguacu and want a great first experience, definitely stay here. Thanks Hotel Del Ray!

“Average hotel for average price”

We've been in the hotel for 2 nights to be able to visit the falls from both Argentinian and Brazilian sides. The hotel is what you get for what you pay. I would say better service and better breakfast than an Ibis hotel. So overall we had what we expected, a place to crash while visiting the falls around. The downfalls are : 1) the hotel looks like it is currently under refurbishment (at least I hope so) so some places are missing tiles on the floor, some place look unfinished 2) don't expect to have a great view outside your window, this is just a stop by hotel to be able to visit the amazing falls 3) don't use the tourist service they are offering, they are charging more than the normal fee. we went on the same tour with the same guide than other guys from the bamboo hostel and the guys paid 20R$ less than us per person.

“ok to stay for 1 night”

the Hotel is ok but you might find different options for much less and same kind of location and amenities.. the information is not always accurate that you get on the reception desk.. the Iguassu falls park is open till 7pm and the boat ride in the falls is open till 5pm but the ride is very expensive(140 reals per person).. the boat ride is not really worth it.. take the trail instead and you ll see grt view of the falls. the bus terminal is very near to the hotel and it takes 25 min to go to falls and also to Itaipu dam. the bus ticket is 2.65 reals one way. taxi is very expensive 50reals one way.. the place is very touristy and expensive.. we had grt barbeque buffet at the restaurant called gaucho.. very cheap and very tasty with lot of options...
