“The absolute perfect hotel experience”

This is THE hotel to stay in if you are traveling to Iguacu Falls. It is the only hotel that is located in the park (in fact the Falls are directly across from the hotel!). The service, the ambience, the beautiful and comfortable rooms, the food, etc., etc. I loved every minute of it and wish I could have spent more time enjoying the hotel amenities (pool, spa, etc.) but I was having too much fun at the Falls!

“Fabulous setting”

The setting was perfect-right in the national park and a short walk across the road to the spectacular Iguacu Falls. It was great being able to see the Falls before opening and after closing with a private guide from the hotel. The hotel food was outstanding, the staff very helpful, the grounds and hotel were beautiful. It was easy to set up tours right from the hotel. My room was a bit on the small side, but it didn't matter since I spent very little time there, and it was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. I came solo to see the falls before a business meeting in Sao Paulo, and am so glad I came.

“Iguaçú's best hotel”

I must say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed, in terms of comfort and service. On top of that, its location is unbeatable. Sleep with the background sound of water falling, direct view from the room to the Iguaçu Falls and a 2 minute walk from the hotel to the first scenery were just amazing.

Area recommendations

to visit Iguaçu, one must be in the two Hotels next to the falls. On the Brasilian side it is Hotel das Cataratas the only equivalent option.

“Not a 5 star hotel”

The view near the hotel is spectacular but the hotel is not a 5 star hotel as it claims to be and as its price reflects. We received a very noisy room and all our requests to move to another room were ignored. We were promised that the room will be quite at night but it wasn't. Such a room (actually a whole wing like this) should not exist in a 5 star hotel. Additionally, once in the hotel you are practically stuck in its (expensive) restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately the restaurant don't serve suitable food for vegetarians or for kids and is not very friendly when problems arise on such matter.

“Proximity to falls, great hotel with a few glitches”

The hotel is right next to the falls, and well worth the money. The staff is friendly, the breakast buffet great, and the restaurants are worthy of the hotel standard. The in house travel agency was very useful for arranging trips and airport transfes. Only drawback was that the doors in surrounding rooms tended to slam shut, providing for a more interrupted sleep than you would expect from this class of hotel.

“Mixed feelings”

Will definitely recommend that visitors stay one night to enjoy the falls without the tourist crowd. Generally excellent service and very friendly and accommodating staff. Main complaint is with food services. Only one restaurant that charges outrageous prices as they know that residents do not have much choice given the remote location.

Traveler's tip

If Budget allows: Recommend one night at Hotel Das Cataratas - get there as early as possible and plan on spending evening and early morning, before the tourist crowd starts, walking along the trail by the falls. 2nd and 3rd (if applicable) nights in Sheraton on the Argentinian side park or one night each at Sheraton and one of the hotels in Foz de Iguazu.
