Many comments said they thought the decor was rather old. We found it extremely charming. And I think it was one of the cleanest and and best maintained hotels I've ever stayed in.

10 minute walk to the center of town. They had nice parking and a good breakfast. I would definitely recommend this if anyone is visiting Rothenberg.

The breakfast each morning was absolutely delightful! Also staff was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the fan in our room - an extra that made our nights comfortable.

Not flashy but good value hotel. Free on-site parking, walking distance to main tourist attractions, breakfast included, easy check-in and out. Downside is not many dining options nearby.

there are no more restaurants in the immediate vicinity, as all guests always go to a restaurant in the historic old town

We enjoyed our stay and especially the great breakfast. It was also easy walking distance to old town Rothenburg. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would recommend.

The hotel is fine. Rooms are small but hey it’s Europe. Internet connection very poor. They need to fix that

Easy walk to Old Town
First let me say that the town of Rothenburg is AMAZING! This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the east gate of Old Town Rothenburg which means you avoid the noise and busyness. It is also a 5 minute walk to the train station. The hotel itself is on the (American) 2nd floor of the building. There is an ELEVATOR!! The room and bathroom itself had plenty of room but the decor is a little tired and could be updated. There was a balcony but it was shared with everyone else on the floor and needed to be powerwashed of the mold, etc. The breakfast room was nice with reserved tables for each guest and had a good breakfast. The staff was very friendly. Parking was on the side of the building and was convenient and free. Overall it was a great stay.

Good quiet hotel.

This hotel was in a great location---walking distance to the city sights and town wall. It hasn't been updated, it is very old -- it took quite a while for our room to heat up, my husband and I asked twice if the heat works and were assured it did---and it did, after a few hours! It's just an old hotel, so if you are looking for a bit more modern or updated facility, you might look at other hotels. The staff was wonderful.
