“A little pricey, but mostly worth it”
Very nice hotel. Well maintained, clean rooms, nicely styled, helpful and courteous staff. The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to get our room many hours before check-in, which we greatly appreciated. Every staff member we encountered spoke English which was helpful. Although very nice, I would not say luxurious. I have paid around the same price at other hotels which had nicer rooms, amenities, etc. Maritim is the best ticket in town and they know it. I'm not saying it's not worth it but it seemed a little pricey from my experience. I would recommend Maritim, but for me next time I visit Wuerzburg I will probably stay somewhere a little more affordable. My biggest criticism is regards to the restaurants, specifically the Viaggio. Viaggio bills itself as their "high-end" fine dining experience, and they have the prices to prove it. My issues: the food was good but not stellar, the styling and decoration of the place is actually a step down from the Weinstube next door, and the service left something to be desired. No one seemed to know what was on their menu. I had to ask multiple times about missing food items on my plate that were listed in the menu. None of these issues alone make this a bad restaurant. But hey, this is supposed to be fine dining, right? So, looking at the overall experience, the Viaggio is out of its league and not worth the prices they charge. Go to the Weinstube instead - it's cozier, cheaper, and the food comes out of the same kitchen.
