If internet isn't needed, stay herePosted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: The staff, the location (I was near the main train station). It was a quaint, small hotel.
Cons: The internet service was very unreliable. Even down in the eating area I had trouble getting and keeping a good connection.
Location: The hotel is in Frankfurt, Germany within walking distance of the main train station. Site seeing, museums, opera - there's plenty to do!
I arrived early in the morning before check-in time but that didn't phase the staff. They kept my luggage in the office while I toured the area waiting for the room to come open. As it was the weekend, it was a nice, quiet walk. The room was ready by the time I returned to the hotel and I was able to rest before beginning the evening's activities. Overall, I found the staff to be very professional and accommodating. They were friendly and knowledgeable of the area and transportation options which made getting around easier. The room was comfortable, if a little sparse, the breakfast was excellent but the same thing every morning. Variety would have been nice. For the most part, this was an enjoyable stay. The only problems were the internet was very unreliable, often necessitating a trip to the eating area to reconnect before taking the elevator back up to the room to continue working. Very frustrating as I had to do that several times a day on those days I used the internet at the hotel. But as I was there mostly for sleeping, I put up with the problem. The other issue as noise. For the first part of the week, the hotel was very quiet but beginning Tuesday night, the hotel must've gotten busier because the noise level went up. The elevator was often running until after midnight and people were coming and going into the early morning hours, which made for several nights of interrupted sleep. It wasn't bad but it was annoying. Will I stay here again? Maybe.

Great if you're travelling alonePosted Jul 9, 2013
Cons: Shared toilet
Location: 10 min from train station
The location was great - near the river and the train station. The room was basic but you can't expect the Ritz for this price. The variety at breakfast was very good although the cornflakes were a little chewy and the white bread could have been slightly fresher, but I'm nit-picking really. Although I didn't care about popping down the corridor from my room the toilet, there is no way my wife would have put up with that so it's lucky this trip was on my own! All in all, under the same circumstances, I'd stay here again.
