.. and the hotel is in pretty sorry shape. There is absolutely NO carpet to be found in either the lobby or the rooms. [Cheap laminate.] We were looking for a quick overnight stay close to Hope, Indiana. While the photos of this hotel look like it's still in good condition, it is NOT. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The parking lot is NOT well lit and just walking to/from the car at night [or in our case, early morning] is questionable at best. At check in, we asked about an upgrade, but because we booked with Hotels.com we were told that there was no 'upgrade' available, but that we could be charged for another room. I usually don't complain about rooms, I realize that when you go cheap, you get what you pay for -- and my standards are a little lax when it comes to convenient overnight quick stays of less than 6 hours. However, the cleanliness -- including the dank smell in the hallway -- tells the true tale of this ex-Motel. I immediately closed the drapes when we got to the room, the window looks like it has 3 years of vegetation growing over it outside and it was smeared on the inside. There were spiders in the bathroom. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

We are extremely sorry about your experience here. We have ceramic tile instead of carpet or laminate on the floors and it gives the floors a more modern feel. We are working on updating the motel. The pool is fully renovated and professionally maintained. We are making sure that the lighting in the parking lot is well improved and we have been checking the rooms from the outside and cleaning them well. Sorry about your spiders and the smell in the hallways we have people to take care of that. We hope that you will give us a second chance and thank you for your review.

The state of Indiana does not allow smoking in the rooms and if we catch someone smoking they are asked to leave immediately as it is not tolerated. However we cannot catch everyone so we have a way of removing that odor now. Sorry that you had that problem. Thank you for your review.

The air conditioner was poor. It would run for about 5 minutes and then turn off and on all night. The bathroom walls had stains. The TV only got reception enough for 5 or 6 stations. The front desk clerk wasn't friendly or helpful. Apparently there are a bunch of people to claim this hotel as their home, which is fine, aside from them refusing to stop smoking in the main entrance. Not a good place to stay.

Pros: my room was clean
Location: Indy Speedway is 25 miles away......not too far.
Place was clean but dated looking. The place a okay looking and NOT run-down looking which is a big plus in my book.

Get what you pay for.

I was a little taken back with the cops in the parking lot when I got there. I did enjoy a quiet night in a very shop worn motel. Everything was shoddy....obvious no updates have been done in years. The room was clean but could use major overhauls.

The check in area, vending area, pool, hallways and outside were filthy. The room was fair, and the girl working the check in desk was extremely rude. If it had not been after midnight when we arrived we would have left immediately!!!
