Simply amazing place to stayPosted Jun 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
We loved staying here overnight when we visited Glaciers. Loved the service by friendly staff. We received a warm welcome after a long drive from Christchurch. The bed was comfy. The accommodation was much bigger than it seemed in pictures. It was just perfect in all terms. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

A little disappointingPosted May 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
My husband, adult son and I stayed 1 night in their "2 bedroom chalet". The unit was very new, modern and clean. Bedroom #1: king bed with inner spring mattress (OK), 2 night stands, a clock, no dresser, no closet and very limited space for any luggage. Bedroom #2: 2 twin beds, 1 bedside stand, clock, no closet, no dresser, fair luggage space. Bathroom: Nice in size walk-in shower with hand-held spray, good mirror over sink, hair dryer, poor lighting - ceiling only, no counter space, no towel bars. Living room: 3-seater couch and 1 overstuffed chair, ~36" TV with satellite channels . Dining room table with 4 chairs. Kitchen has refrigerator, toaster, microwave, and nice counter space. Guest laundry is present for a fee and cold water wash only (not posted as such). We had to ask twice for sufficient towels for bathroom. Located about 5 Km (6 min.) drive outside of main area where one can find restaurants. Adequate for one night stay.

A lovely large lodge with ample space for a family. 2 bedrooms, large bathroom, and a spacious lounge and full kitchen. Each lodge is separate to the others with their own parking spot. A few kms out of town but that makes it a quite spot.

Very nice place to stay. Pretty modern flair to it, clean, and very comfortable. I'd recommend anyone to stay here. A little out of town, so up to you to decide if that is good or bad. I quite liked it being away from things.

Clean comfy self-contained apartmentPosted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: Good facilities
Cons: Provide hanging space for clothes
Location: Out of town, but peaceful & you have to drive anyway to Franz Josef.
Very well appointed 2 bedroom apartment. Pleasant helpful staff. Just one tiny thing missing & that was hanging space. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

comfortable and helpfulPosted Mar 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
Loved this hotel. We got in late one night and the receptionist was so helpful. She gave us ideas about what to do in town, made sure we were comfortable, and even opened the office late so we could borrow some dvds. The weather was less than ideal, but the room was cozy. It's a little ways outside of town, but we had a car anyway so that wasn't a problem and parking at the hotel and in town were convenient.

SpaciousPosted Feb 27, 2014
Cons: It's fine.
Location: We walked on the Fox glacier which was unique.
A large, individual and spacious unit which was comfortable and well equipped. A pleasant spot to stay with good access to Fox and Franz Joseph glaciers.

Not good - beware do not stay here!Posted Jan 25, 2014
Pros: The view from our apartment.
Cons: Heating. Bedding. Having a separate toilet as it made it difficult with 4 people when someone was showering.
Location: Location was a short drive to the city centre. It was a lovely location with mountain ranges to overlook.
We are a family of 4 with 2 Adults and 2 kids (teenagers). The bed smelt like it had never been cleaned in years. It was awful. It rained the whole time we stayed here and was extremely COLD. We had 1 tiny little fan heater to heat the whole 2 bedroom apartment. It was dreadful. We couldn't sleep well as we were cold and it was unbearable when showering or sitting in the living area. The hosts are very pleasant and it is a really spacious apartment. It was expensive to stay here and certainly not worth it.

Beautiful hotelPosted Dec 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
We only stayed one night so have limited information for feedback, but the hotel was spacious, clean, and very comfortable for myself and my family. The owners were very nice. It is a few kilometers outside of Franz Josef township.
