“A touch of luxury in Hervey Bay”
The hotel is basically comprised of self-contained apartments, and not a "traditional full service" hotel. This was fine for us, as we were happy to buy a few groceries for our stay. My husband and I were traveling with our 18 month old toddler, so being able to relax in a 2br apartment and prepare our toddler's meals as we needed to, was great. The hotel facilities incude a sauna, gym and large pool, and there is a great restaurant at the front called Coast. The apartment itself was nicely decorated, and the main bedroom had a large ensuite with a spa/jacuzzi-type bath. There was also a separate bathroom (no bath) across the hall from the 2nd bedroom. We were told that our apartment had the largest balcony in the building (approx 50 people), and with only a table and a few chairs on it, it certainly looked huge!
The only down side (and it really wasn't a down side, but...) was that the apartment had been vacant for 4 days, therefore they had shut off the aircon. When we got into the room it was extremely hot, and it took over an hour for the apartment to cool down once we had turned it on. It makes "green sense" to not use the aircon and kudos to the hotel for this, however, I thought they might have switched it on knowing we were checking in. Like I said, not really a big deal, but when you have a fussy toddler, you need to feel comfortable. Overall, a great place to stay and we look forward to going back.
