“Blizzard Bliss”

My stay at the Red Horse was during the December blizzard that hit the mid-atlantic states. The 20+ inches of snow didn't seem to phase anyone. The parking lot and driveway were plowed as best as could be expected, the staff made it through the storm to do the necessary cleaning and everyone remained friendly. The only "problem" was that being on the highway side of the hotel, you could hear the snow plows all night. But that doesn't happen that often and it was nice to hear the plows keeping the roads clear.

Great location, good restaurants in walking distance. Nice and clean rooms, friendly staff. Always stay there on our way back to Dulles Airport. Will definitely stay there on our next visit. Only thing missing is guest laundry.

“So so”

A basic room. No continental breakfast to be found. (although it was advertized) At checkout, no printed invoice. They said I could get one from Expedia. Also, only basic cable tv service without movie features.

“Frederick Trip”

While the hotel was OK, the first night our toilet overflowed and when the front desk was called we were told no one was available to help us, and they hung up. I had to go to the desk, ask for a plunger and extra towels to cl ean up the mess. When I checked out I once again expressed my dissatisfaction with the hotels response to our problem and was ignored. We will not go back !

“Don't recommend”

Beds are old, very hard and uncomfortable. All rooms could stand a major upgrade.
