“Peacful”

I found the people very comforting and helpful. They were more than willing to provide any information to all guests. The room was suited for two people with easy access to the beach. The resturant was also close by.

“Mixed feelings about this hotel”

There were many nice things about this hotel including being very close to a beautiful beach and a lovely restaurant, but the room had some glaring issues including an old TV that did not work properly (also no remote), a shower that did not work at all (with not even a stopper so that one could at least bathe), a running, noisy toilet, and very noisy ventilation fans in the small bathroom and kitchenette. We were given no sanitized glasses or cups or liner for the ice bucket. Also the ice maker nearest the room did not work. Considering what we paid for this room, we were very disappointed that the general quality was not better.

“Hotel does not match star rating”

They had coffee and a maker in the room but reported they had been out of creamer and sugar for "awhile". Towel rack had been ripped off wall. Outside walkways had mildew and needed paint. Hotel overall is old and tired and does not match the star ratings represented on Expedia.com.

“What could have been.”

Flamingo Bay is a little out of the way. All the facilities are "across the road", as delivered with a wave of the hand without looking up. This requires you to wear your green wrist band and take a short ten minute stroll to the restaurant, beach and pool. If you want to go to Lucaya there is a ferry over and back each hour that has a moderate but substantial charge per couple. I asked for a "smoking room" when I booked and again at check in. I also asked the room maid for an ashtray which she supplied. Our next to last day was windy with a few showers so we stayed in our room and read. I was surprised by a call from the desk informing me that the hotel was non-smoking in the rooms as the result of another guest walking by and seeing me reading and smoking. Obviously the staff at the hotel is not up to speed on the policies of the hotel.

“What could have been.........”

Flamingo Bay is a three story 1970's motel serving the property under the name of Taino Beach. This is primarily a condo complex so the facilities, pool, beach and restaurant are across Jolly Roger Drive and are accessed by a five to ten minute walk from your room. Access to nearby Lucaya Market can only be reached by ferry or taxi. The round trip ferry cost is $10.00 per couple for the ten minute each way trip. I requested through Expedia a smoking room and made the same request at check in. On the next to last day of our stay I received a call from the front desk informing me that smoking was not permitted inside the property's buildings. The maid on our first day was kind enough to supply me with an ashtray when I inquired about smoking in our room. I couldn't help but get the impression that members of their staff are not all on the same page.

“I would check before returning here”

LOcation to the beach and resort facilities was great. However the business suite was only a business suite in name! lol two outdated shivering scared desktops limited to a 30 minute timed session but with limited broadband and real slow computers I pretty much did most of what i needs n my apple device. Kept getting Bitten by whatever was active in the mattress! Quite dissappointing! changed rooms, but still not resolved! in the second room the mattress was softer also, so ended up having back pains all week for the remainder of my stay! pretty lame! Wifi is only present in the lobby! If you are lucky topick murmer which cobstantly cuts out. Apparently it was in the process of upgrading it! but I would call and ask as I need about 6 hours access a day and i was struggling to get a few hours alone! There is only one restaurant on site where the food quality left much to be desired but the prices were very comparable to central london well established venues where the quality is assured! I found the food menu woeful to say the least! being an island! the choice of seafood was scant! the quality od the meats was poor also. however the local Grouper fish is quite tasty.

“Strange arrangement, not at all impressed”

Very odd arrangement. Not what I expected. Was not a hotel by definition and had no internet access although said so. No restaurant. Only a double bed when it was suppose to be two single beds. Charge credit card without signage from myself.
