Pros: Location, ease of getting to my room, size, wi-fi
Cons: The smell of cleanser was a bit heavy at check-in. Cont. brkfast available, not much to choose from (a few bagels and some cereal). Good coffee.
Great staff at the desk when I checked in. Very friendly, asked about my trip, etc.

Ugliest place I've ever stayed atPosted Nov 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Booked the hotel back in April for an overnight stay to attend a concert at Jones Beach in September. I read on the reviews that the hotel was in the process of renovation so I thought that by September all the rooms would be renovated. Wrong. Most rooms are not renovated and it doesn't look like they're going to. We saw through the windows the rooms that were renovated, which looked nice, but the difference between those and what we got was huge. We got a creepy old motel room which makes you feel like you're in a horror movie. The walls were panels from the 70's, the curtain wouldn't close properly, the plastic ice bucket was broken, and there was no ergonomic chair as was advertised. There was a "new" bathroom; the shower was fine but the sink didn't work, so we used the old sick which is located in the room! The room has a musty smell that they try to cover up with deodorant spray, but it just doesn't work and the result is annoying. Also, the way the electricity is set up, you can't have the refrigerator connected and use the switch for the bathroom light! The room was WAY OVERPRICED; it should have been half of what we paid. The surrounding neighborhood has nothing to offer walking distance and is not inviting. If I had known the room was going to be so bad, I would have stayed in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

Pros: Cheapest in town. Decent view of water.
Cons: Needs better TV channels. A coffee pot would do. Needs better pillows small and cheap. Bed is too firm not soft. Complimentary breakfast wasn't great.
Decent experience overall. Old fashioned hotel. Checkout is too early. Most I've stayed at is 12pm.

Restored family-owned 1950s style motel on the water 1 mile south of all the traffic along the southern LI shore. Large rooms, very clean, very large contemporary and expensively outfitted shower. Still a work in progress but I would stay again and recommend to all my friends and family. Very carefully maintained. A gem of faithful restoration and personal comfort.
