“Beautiful, elegant and fun”
There is so much beautiful, elegant charm in this old hotel! I really enjoy seeing quality, and you can see pride and care in everything built into it. We had a great time dressing for dinner and then had the most wonderful steaks! The restaurant was fabulous and the service was EXCELLENT wherever we went. There is a lot to do and we did spend a short time in the casino, where they do have a less smokey room for non-smokers. The little shops are fun. The buffet breakfast was good, but they had no idea what rice milk was for lactose free diets, they had no substitutes. If you are comparing this to West Baden, you won't have a bath robe in your room but it is a little less pricey. We had a wonderful time!
“wonderful”
Loved every minute of our stay.
“Totally Impressed”
Stayed here before, came back again and will continue coming back. This hotel and amenities are just fabulous!! Loved the history here and the comfortable feeling that we got from the moment we walked in the doors. Staff was friendly, helpful, no complaints at all. My sisters & I will probably make staying there in the fall a yearly tradition!
“Had a great time BUT...”
Make sure you read the map that is given to you with your hotel key. We didnt and just looked at the resort flyers and assumed you didnt have to take a shuttle or drive to some of the restaurants. Also check and make sure because some of the restaurants arent open everyday. I sat on the floor to do my makeup and noticed lots of dust along the baseboards. Besides that it was a beautiful room.
“Like steping back in time”
The Frech Lick Resort is a wonderful get away. Everything they do is first class. You can take a step back in time to a period of grand resorts.
“A great week-end”
We were upgraded to the 5 star West Baden and found no fault with it. All the amenities, but historic like a time travel experience. Decided to stay a second night, this time at French Lick Springs. It is a 4 star but still very nice. Most famous for the excellent food. We love the peace and quiet, horse back riding in the rolling hills, saw plenty of deer, even a bobcat. Every stay we make a point to choose one of the many rocking chairs on the wrap around veranda and have an ice cream cone and talk and listen to the music playing. The town has more to offer since the addition of the casino. Not a fan of that entertainment, but it in no way interfered with our lovely time. We shall return.
“Super hotel and casino!!!”
Sure was nice to stay in a super "old" hotel. Having the casino on site was ideal. Great breakfast bar that came with the room. We can't say enough nice about our stay...
“French Lick”
Beautifully restored hotel. Expensive.
“Beautiful location. We would go back anytime.”
My wife and I decided one morning that we would like to go to French Lick Springs Resort for a Beautiful Fall Day Outing. The weather and drive from Kentucky were beautiful. The Resort was also outstanding and we had a delicious meal at Diamond Jim's in the Casino. The room and the pool were delightful. We will be back again for another enjoyable night.
“An ideal destination for fall color and ambience amid historical $.5 billion restoration”
We drove down from Chicago on a Sunday with another couple.for three nights to see the spectacular renovation of the French Lick Springs Resort and its sister resort West Baden Springs Spa. The guided historical tours at both resorts is like stepping back in time. Historical pictures along the wall in the expansive common areas depict the history, which predates the civil war. The diversity of things to do, pools, spa, restaurant facilities, and shops are all exceptionally well-maintained. The connected casino is geared more towards recreational players than "high rollers" with plenty of 1-cent, 2-cent, and 25 cent slots...plus the usual table games. Not to miss are the train 2-hour train ride through the Hoosier National Forest and a sunset dinner on the deck at Hagens overlooking the golf course...what a view! This was our first time using Expedia and the value we received in booking will have us checking Expedia on future trips to upscale destinations. Took !-70 west from Indianapolis to Cloverdale and south on US231 at the suggestion of the folks at French Lick. What a scenic drive! Not as fast as IN rte 37, but spectacular color and wide two-lane road, Took IN 37 to Indy gong back and stopped at Bluespring Caverns in Bedford for a 1-hour boat tour of the cave...what an effortless way to "explore" a cave! Overall, plan on at least three nights when visiting the area. The Expedia rate was not on our bill at check-out. Easily corrected by staff.
