Good No-Frills Hotel

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: Staff and location.
First night the room smelled like someone was smoking in there and flushing the toilet made a loud whistling noise for 2 minutes. We complained the next day and the staff quickly gave us a new room without any problems. The first night was lousy but the second night in the newer room was excellent. Staff were always helpful and quick. The hotel location is great and within walking distance of the airport.

Cons: The electric plug was defective and the wakeup call didn't happen, otherwise everything was fine.
I found the location of this hotel a bit confusing, as it is around a one-way corner from another Piccadilly hotel. But it was fine.

Lights out

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Multiple lamps inside the room were unplugged or not working. I arrived with my young son and the last thing I wanted to do was scare him in a darkened room he's not used to. Some of the lamps were unplugged and others just didn't work. Spent time pulling out the bed and TV cabinet trying to re plug lights.

Nice, clean room for an economical price

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Only about a 3 minute drive to Fresno airport
Cons: Maybe a little maintenance on the AC units.
Location: About a 15 minute drive to downtown Fresno, and though I didn't have the time to go, Yosemite National Park is only about 1-1.5 hour drive away.
The Piccadilly Express was one of the cheapest, and closest to the airport, of the choices I had. It appears to have been around for several years, but is clean and well maintained. The rooms are basic, but were clean had all of the modern amenities. The staff was very nice, and eager to help. If you are looking for a nice, clean, budget hotel while you visiting Fresno, this is a good choice. My only negative comment would be that the air conditioner, in my particular room, was very loud anytime the compressor kicked in. To the point that I had to turn it to fan only to be able to sleep.

A bit noisy

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Cons: Breakfast, mechanical attention to room HVAC to reduce unnecessary noise, better bedspreads.... typical cheap ones...
To be fair, we were there during a convention of the Future Farmers of America, so there were high school students occupying much of the Inn. What kept me awake though was more that the sheets had been laundered in a typical detergent, most of which are somewhat caustic and my skin is sensitive to them. Shame on me for not bringing my own sheets and pillowcase. Also, I used the HVAC unit mounted in the wall as a source of white noise to help me sleep. It clearly needed some maintenance attention, as it was very noisy, more than in the usual way. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is no jacuzzi/hot tub, which was disappointing after a long drive. The continental breakfast was perhaps the least useful I have ever enountered. I went to the Starbucks around the corner for breakfast (along with a couple of hundred FFA students! looooooong line.)
