Its a nice place but rooms look and feel old. Night desk person was rude. The day shift was great.

Nightmare at San JoquinPosted Oct 21, 2013
The hotel looks like it use to be nice but not keep up. They told me the night I arrived that there would be no electricity the next day from 8am to 4pm. They did not clean the rooms that day either or give us fresh towels terrible experience.

Pleasant stay at San Joaquin HotelPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: The landscaping was nice, especially during the evenings.
Cons: Our sheets were dirty.
Location: There are really great restaurants down the street with live music. Definitely recomment.
The hotel itself was adorable. It had a boutique feel to it with wonderful landscaping. Our suite was on the second floor. I really enjoyed the stay. *My only complaint was the sheets. They had clearly failed to wash them. Aside from that everything was wonderful. Continental breakfast with variety. Staff was friendly.

A Tired HotelPosted Sep 28, 2013
Pros: The landscaping, pool, location, and the assistant manager.
Cons: Keys, insulation, upkeep of 2nd and 3rd floors, breakfast.
Many years ago we stayed at the San Joaquin Hotel when all was new and the hotel bustled with activity and amenities. The hotel has undergone several changes in ownership since then. One set of owners set out to redo the grounds, which they did, and the resulting landscaping is very pleasant. They also began remodeling the rooms, but only got as far as the first floor. There are three floors. Unfortunately, the age is showing where the wicker on the lawn furniture is shredding and the upper floors need painting. Breakfast, though served from 7-9, was basically a wash by 8:30. On both mornings we attempted to go, the coffee was out, and we had to ask for more. Plates and cream for coffee were also gone. The other morning we went, the yogurt was gone, and there was none to replace it. We also noticed that detritus left by guests during Tuesday's breakfast was still on the table Wednesday afternoon. One day the maid didn't leave soap or the usual amenities, and I had to go asking for it. My electronic key worked for my room but would not work on the gates of the hotel or the gates into the pool. I was told to pull it through slowly. The groundskeeper got it to work once after four tries, but I was never able to do so. The walls are also relatively thin so some night owls who arrived in their unit kept us awake from 1AM until 3AM. When we checked out, the assistant manager was receptive and sympathetic to our complaints. She has managed the hotel for over 12 years.

Bottom of the barrelPosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was old and out of date, they never offered a continental breakfast that was served, I feel after looking at other rooms they gave us the bottom of the barrel.

Lovely hotel with great aesthetic appealPosted Jun 21, 2013
Pros: Great bed. Separate living room. Tv with cable in bedroom & living room. Mini fridge & coffee maker. Nice closet. Separate bath and shower!!! Patio
Cons: More privacy on outdoor patio. Neighbor shared patio , only a see- thru gate separating each patio.
Location: Lots of shopping & restuarants. Close to freeways but not too close. Yosemite national Park front gate 45 min drive. Great for vacationers & business
Beautiful grounds. Nice pool & spa. Homelike rooms. Upgrade to remodeled rooms , well worth it. I've stayed here on several occasions. Great smaller boutique hotel a little off the freeway. Close to exclusive fig garden shopping center with many shops , restuarants, & whole foods .

The outside of the hotel is very nicely kept. As far as my room went, the tv's had to have been 15 years old and one didn't work, the a.c. barely got the room cool after being on all night, and key card did not work on the exterior gates
