“Friendly, helpful staff”

I had a comfortable 3-night stay here. It was a less expensive option than the hotel where our convention was being held. I was in walking distance to the convention, as well as restaurants, Starbucks, everything I needed. The person who checked me in was very welcoming, efficient and helpful with directions. I'd been wary of booking this reservation because of some of the negative reviews I'd seen. But I'd stay here again. If you're not looking for luxury and a good value, this place works.

“Convenient”

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the Grizzlies ballpark. It was super convenient for that. We could easily walk the two blocks to the park and back again. The staff was friendly, the grounds clean and safe. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner worked well and the shower was adequate. The room was pretty clean except for the carpet, which badly needs to be replaced. It was dirty and worn. My only other criticism are the way the beds were made. As a former hotel maid, I recognized the flat bottom sheet technique, but the sheets are too small and the mattress pad too thin to really make that work very well. It was very easy to pull the sheets out. One of us ended up sleeping directly on the mattress by the time the night was over. For its convenience to the park, I would stay here again. However, this place needs some upgrades quickly to avoid losing business.

“Tried to go cheap and it backfired”

This was a horrible choice. The carpet was flithy and left black stains on my 9-month old's pants when she crawled on the floor. The room had an awful musty smell to it, so bad that I went to the store to buy some air freshener to spray in the room. And to top it all off, the beds were like sleeping on slabs of rock. I didn't expect much from Super 8, but this was horrific. The staff was decent, though my interactions with them were minimal. I'll never stay at this hotel again. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra coin to stay at the competitor 2 blocks down the road.
