“An extremely relaxing and beautiful setting”

We have just returned from a really relaxing, easy holiday in this hotel. We had a 'superior bungalow' in the 3000 block which had three balconies - one of them was huge and you could have spent the whole day up there on the very comfortable sun loungers. We could see the sea from all three balconies. It was a two minute walk to the pool and we had no problems getting loungers - there are some with umbrellas, but you have to be quick for those! We went self catering and found the local restaurants and supermarkets very convenient and reasonably priced - buying drinks by the pool was a bit pricey. There is a fridge, microwave and two ring hob in the kitchenette, aswell as a toaster, kettle and even a teapot! Plenty of wardrobe space. The room and the hotel grounds were both beautiful and spotless. This particular part of the resort is very quiet and not near the entertainment of the main hotel, which was ideal for us. If you're looking for peace and quiet and relaxation, with everything within easy reach, this is the perfect place. We will definitely return (and try and book the same room!)

“Great for a Getaway”

We needed a break and Barcelo Club El Castillo was perfect. It is a lovely resort, conveniently placed for beach and restaurants. It is calm and quiet, no noisy revellers--great for families or couples. We were in the 1000 block, self-catering and had a good sized apartment, well-equipped kitchen, a double bed and TV with BBC, Spanish and German stations. We hired a car for 2 days and drove around to see the island's dramatic mountain scenery (not apparent at El Castillo) and other lively resorts of Correlejo and Jandia and the beautiful old town of Betancuria. This is highly recommended.

“Great Beach Holidays”

Great location and beautiful bungalows. Right beside the beach. I liked the fact to have a kitchen to cook some meals, this is good also to save some money and no need to eaot out every day. There are many Restaurants (Steak Houses, typical Canarian, Indian, Spanish, Italian, Chinese...), small supermarkets and shops in the area. Is ideal as a Beach Holiday, to relax and enjoy the sun. We went in February 2011 and was not too busy, I think is the ideal winter break. The beach at Caleta de Fuste is very clean, with white sand and great to do some water sports too. The only remark I can do, a minor one, is that the shower somedays, not always, took quite long to get warm water. I had sometime to let it run for about 3-4 min before I got warm water. Everything else was great.

“perfect for relaxation”

I went with my 12 yr old son in may and it wasn't crowded at all and all low level one or two story buildings surrounded by fabulous greenery. take a taxi from the airport - only takes 10 mins. we asked at reception but for accommodation next to the beach and got it; number 2012 - it was just across the palm lined walkway from the beach! large living / kitchen area with sofa bed and satellite tv (only three english channels though) and separate bathroom (with fresh towels each day) and one big bedroom. big wardrobe space and the kitchen was well equipped even had a toaster and electric kettle. i woke up in the morning, drew the curtains and there was the sea a few metres away -lovely. we were ground floor and had a great patio area with loungers and table and chairs and the occasional visiting cat much to my son's delight. yes there were a couple of cockroaches but only on the first day. the maids came every day and were really friendly, as were all of the staff. we didn't actually eat in the resort - just walked along the beach into the town where there's lots more choice and slightly cheaper supermarkets! The resort does have it's own little stretch of shops though - electronics shop, supermarket, gifts, clothes shops etc. we wanted relaxation, good apartment and great weather which is what we got. fantastic swimming pools and the beach was great - Even so a lovely break - i'd love to go back

“nice hotel”

the hotel was good only one problem i booked a bungalow with see view . no see view at all for the first 3 days. we complained, wo got moved to another bungalow which was nice regards

“Good location, wtch the hidden EXTRAS!”

A good basic hotel if you are allocated one of refurbished newer rooms, we stayed in one of the older apartments near the main road which was a bit tatty and very noisey due to the bars over the road. The pools are great and the location is fab though. The other thing to watch is the hidden extras. They charge extra for evrything and this is not well advertised on the website. For example, it costs extra to use the gym 5euros per person per session and also costs to play mini golf. The nicer resteraunts are not included in the all inclusive price either. Also felt quite annoyed to be charged 9 euros for a sun lounger on the hotels own beach. Bot as great value as first might think.

“Hotel clean and nice but place disappointing”

The apparently was lovely however a few problems the beds were uncomfortable, the pool was freezing and the breakfast like a dinner hall same thing everyday with food from night before served. Fuerterventura was very Brits abroad/ Benidorm, certainly won't be returning.

“OK but some downsides”

Beds were uncomfortably cheap (not much more than a sponge mattress) and rooms seemed slightly grubby, with sporadic maid service. We paid for wifi but the quality was awful, we got a refund. However the hotel itself was very pleasant, with nice pools, restaurants and beach, and very quiet.
