Excellent food and great facilitiesPosted Sep 20, 2014
Really enjoyed our stay. We went all inclusive for the first time and it worked for us, we hardly spent any money. Will certainly be going back.

Value for money, close to beachPosted May 25, 2014
Pros: Plenty of shaded areas by the pool.
Cons: Label the salads and offer vegetarian options
Location: Got a taxi €4 to jandia area and walked back along the beach. Lots of gift shops and bars to explore if you wanted. Beach is 4 miles of white sand
Lovely open and clear reception, room was clean, large and welcoming. Beach close by and can cut through the grounds so a shorter walk. Once you know the resort is German and has a lot of nudity on the beach it is fine. 1st language is Spanish then German then French and finally English. Food is plentiful but as I am a vegetarian it was very limited. No salad is labeled and contain a lot of fish and the veg sauce for pasta had ham in so be aware. You can ask and use the Mar hotel which has a inside pool. On the whole a lovely relaxing holiday.

Lovely place, perfect holidayPosted Apr 24, 2014
We stayed here early April 2014, we were extremely happy with the overall holiday. The hotel is ideally located by the beach and with a little shopping centre which includes a few branded shops, local shops and a spar food shop. Only a short walk away, there is a row of shops which is quite touristic but is definitely worth the short walk down. The actual hotel was large which was really nice as didn't feel overcrowded. The staff were always helpful and upbeat. The main nationalities seem to be german and French although, this might have been due to the time we went and how it coincided with school holidays though. The breakfast we couldn't fault. Lunch had all the ingredients for you to put together a nice meal. Dinner was quite disappointing. The a la carte restaurant was worse than the buffet. They managed to get us in and out in 20 minutes which is quite a record for us. The waiter removed my plate whilst I was eating my bread still ( I know this isn't a massive deal, but still) The snack bar is ok, although was missing the usual snack-bar-stereotype pizza, and being a veggie meant I was limited to making cheese toasties, although, I do make a mean toastie so it wasn't so bad. The hotel room itself was lovely, the bed was spacious and I liked the bath. Only slight off putting bit was that there was blood on the duvet when we arrived and stayed our whole trip. This didn't really bother us. We would definitely recommend the place and would rate a high 3 or 4 star :-)

Great locationPosted Jun 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
We (2 adults and a 10 year old) stayed at the resort for a week in the middle of May all inclusive and enjoyed ourselves: location -- near outstanding white sandy beach, staff -- friendly and helpful, ample choice of food and drinks. However, hot drinks were only available via machine; fruit juices tasted diluted. Evening entertainment was disappointing, mainly provided by enthusiastic staff.

A good mass market "resort " hotelPosted May 31, 2013
Pros: Pool area and sea view from room
Cons: Cold Canteen style food/atmosphere and steep inclines to/from the main hotel / pools and rooms
Location: On a steep hill and isolated - rather exposed and windy. Whilst is close to the beach it is still a 10 min walk. Not close to shops/restaurants
Not the best of barcelos..Hotel is spacious and clean; with good sized pools. Sea views from some rooms [ extra charge] although not so good from the public terraces /siting areas. Internet is extra. There is a charge for towels [ refundable]. Room cleaning could be better. Reception staff are efficient . A wide choice of food but canteen atmosphere. Food can be cold/bland The public areas are large but rather spartan in appearance. Hotel is located on a steep hill and there is a steep climb from some blocks to the main building. Entertainment is average [ pool side games can be noisy ] . Its a long walk to the beach [10 mins] part is via a graffiti painted subway. If you are disabled or elderly you might find the position difficult both for the beach walk and the climb from some rooms to main hotel facilities . The hotel is not near the main shopping/ restaurants area - 30 min walk. The hotel is not bad but has a rather holiday camp atmosphere with numbered / painted accommodation blocks. Part is designated premium for which an extra charge is made.. Premium residents complain they have to use the" butlins area" to in the evening. Entertainment is free but is mainly cheesy songs etc for the mostly German clientele. Not much TV in English. if you are not seeking fine dining and sophistication and you don't mid the holiday resort feel you wont be disappointed as the value is reasonable It wasn't for me though too large and too much self service.

A good hotel for both families and couplesPosted May 31, 2013
Pros: Really good helpful and friendly staff
Cons: Paying 40 euros for the room safe. Being asked to pay for the car park which previously had been free and now is consequently no longer used by guests
Location: Far enough from the centre to justify the guilty feeling of going all inclusive. Very convenient for the beach.
We have stayed at this hotel on about four previous occasions, but thought that the catering had slipped a little during the previous visit. I am pleased to say that during this recent visit that trend had reversed, and the variety of food offered during breakfast and dinner was much improved. My only gripe would be that the small bread rolls I tried were of indeterminate age, however they did make an attractive display which is where I left them for the rest of our stay. I was somewhat surprised that the gate security access (via room card) at the rear of the hotel was was broken with the card reader missing, which allowed free entry to the hotel grounds day and night. Having experienced unwanted night time visitors at a previous hotel in Caleta, I was concerned at this lack of security.

great place for a QUIET breakPosted May 27, 2013
Pros: very relaxed atmosphere
Cons: my only tiny fault i found was the noisy air con in the room, but thats not a big deal
Location: not ideal if you dont like steep road leading down to beach area
the hotel was exactly what was required for this particular holiday. I was looking for a quiet restfull week and i am happy to say that the staff and hotel provided the perfect atmosphere for my needs.even though the meals were all buffet service there was no long queues even though the hotel was fairly full, you would expect at an all inclusive that the bar areas would be packed out,but the bar staff were very efficient and served people quickly with no problem.housekeeping was great, done everyday without fail at a time that fitted in with the guest i never felt like i had to be up and out at a certain time or the room would not get done,i left the door signs on as required and the staff respected our requirements.Iwould give the hotel 8/10.
