“The room was small but it was enough to just sleep and take shower.”

The clerks were very polite and hotel was very clean.

Area recommendations

Tenjin- many places to dine out and drink, Hakata station- Many temples and shrines within walking distance.

Dining

When you are in Hakata, you have to try Motsu nabe (intestine hot pot), Mizudaki (Hot pot with chicken), and Tonkotsu ramen. You cannot go wrong at most of the places.

“Exactly what was expected!”

The hotel was well situated. No fuss and good service. If I return to Fukuoka I would definitely try to get a room at the Monterrey La Soeur again.

“Nice Place”

Great location close to a large CitiBank branch (for cash) and a subway station entrance. Nice room, nice staff... no complaints.

“Surprisingly nice”

Hotel was a lovely respite after a long travel day. Great location in Tenjin district, although hotel staff wasn't able to direct us too well. We probably should have done a little more research before we went.

Area recommendations

Tenjin is apparently the cool part of town- lots of young people.

“Pretty nice business hotel very well located”

Hotel is located just on the edge of Tenjin - the fashionable and breezy core of Fukuoka city. The hotel staff were very pleasant and most spoke English. My room was a bit small and the AC was feeble (but the main areas of the hotel were well airconditioned). The location by Tenjin was the best point and the hotel was super easy to find from the airport. (It is very close to a subway exit). The only fault I can find is that the lobby areas are tiny so waiting for people there can be awkward. But overall the hotel gave me a positive experience.

“Fantastically small”

All standard hotel rooms in Japan are small but this one made it cozy with all brand new clean amenities! It was trendy, and in the center of the Tenjin shopping district accross the street from the subway, great location! We were pleasantly suprised!
