ZzzzzzzzzzzPosted Feb 24, 2015
Without a doubt the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Nothing fancy but clean and did I mention the bed zzz zzz. Biggest drawback was the potholes and craters in the driveway. I would definitely stay again, just for the zzzzzzzz.

Overnight while traveling it's not bad.Posted Feb 11, 2015 on Hotels
Room was clean, but dusty and had some kind of insect larvae on the phone cord. Bathroom was clean. Needed a good vacuum and bleach wipe down. The breakfast was not very good. The bread was stale and they did not have any fruits or juices. They only had packet oatmeal, corn flakes and toast. For the price it was understandable.

Don't take your wife here.Posted Feb 10, 2015 on Hotels
Ok if you are needing an inexpensive place to stay. When we turned the heater on it smelled like a cat had used the bathroom in it. There was someone on the parking lot most of the night playing a loud booming radio every so often. When we got to the breakfast at 8:30, there was 1/3 pot of coffee left that was very old, and there was only a couple of food items left with no one around to replenish anything. The night attendant seemed nice enough, but was talking to someone on the phone the whole time we were checking in, but there was no one to be found for checkout.

One night stay onlyPosted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: Close to Interstate. Cheap
Cons: See above
Location: Overnight stay only - no time to explore surroundings.
Not bad for a one night stay, but it's definitely not going to be someone's home base if you're staying in the area for a while. The rooms are old but serviceable, with the typical worn carpet, dinged up walls and woodwork, and shower with caulk peeling off here and there. When I checked in, the hotel had not received the reservation from Expedia, and I had to call Expedia myself, even though I had the email confirmation and showed it to the clerk. Expedia then put me on hold and called the hotel, talking to the clerk while I stood in front of her, then confirming that I had paid for the room. I had to wait while the clerk and the Expedia person discussed the routing of Expedia reservations to the hotel, which was not my problem. I just wanted to get into the room after 13 hours on the road.

Dead roaches! Go elsewhere!!Posted Nov 19, 2014 on Hotels
Dirty!! Towels dirty (use bleach), air/heat vent dirty, etc. Found dead roach on top of "supposedly" clean towel! Dead roach in between door frame (bathroom door)! Thankfully did not see any live roaches! Did see one live stink bug on wall! Over all gross!

The hotel is on the outskirts of town near the interstate. Gadsden is a sleepy little town that is experiencing population decline. The hotel itself is a bit dated. Good sized room but nothing fancy. Clean. Although the room furnishings/carpet could be improved, the room I was in had a huge new flat screen TV. So if you are into big TV's, this is a plus. Water pressure in the shower is fabulous. Restaurants, shopping, etc is very limited around hotel. No safety issues.

Don't Even Consider This HotelPosted Oct 21, 2014 on Hotels
This hotel was absolutely terrible. The desk is run by a single sheet of paper with the room names on it and what looked to be a personal iPad which made me very uncomfortable and glad that I booked securely with hotels.com ... I would not have left my credit card info with these people. We got to the room and it smelled like someone opened a bottle of Febreze and just dumped it in the room. It took 4 hrs for the air to become breathable. The carpet was dirty and worn out. Once the Febreze wore off, the room smelled terrible. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were paper thin. The bedspreads had holes in them. There were mold stains on the bath tub. There was a hole in the bathroom door. The television was at least 20 yrs old. There were dirty old blankets stuff into the dressers, which also smelled terrible. There was only one ice machine for the entire hotel, which was on the first floor near the office and we stayed on the top floor at the furthest point from the front office. And to top it off, their "continental breakfast" literally consisted of 2 types of cereal, white bread, bagels, and store bought Oatmeal Cream Pies and cinnamon rolls. Oh, I forgot coffee, which was the best thing about the entire hotel, which doesn't say much. I knew I was reserving an "economy" type hotel in this price range, but for $70/night, I certainly expected it to be clean. I would NEVER return to this hotel.
