“Good for the price but could improve”

The hotel needs better upkeep. Exterior corridor walls and sidewalks are dirty and the plaster is cracking. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The AC and the wireless internet worked fine but the batteries were dead in the TV remote and the picture was wavy.

I stayed here only because it was the last place around for the homecoming game at U of FL in Gainseville. It had 2 beds and barely smelled like smoke. That is the best thing I can say about the place. It is a roadside motel for travels right off the highway and that is it. No remote for the TV, no ironing boards, and the continental breakfast looked like it had been there since the Regan administration.

“Too noisy and run down.”

The hotel seemed old and run down. Maintenance was lacking. It was very noisy all night due to truck traffic. The trucks used there engine brakes or were accelerating near the hotel.

They changed name of hotel and that's not name in computer. had microwave and fridge did'nt work. had to go get cash machine did'nt work. BAD BUSINESS!. NOT WORTH THE MONEY @ ALL!!!

“Management said "put up with it or leave"”

My daughter and I researched hotel accommodations for a weekend stay outside of Gainesville due to the football game . We were excited about a great rate available at the "Days Inn in Alachua". We were welcomed by very friendly staff. We then proceeded to pay for two night's stay then went to our room.Nothing looked like the photos on Expedia, especially the large cock roach found on the ceiling and in the shower. When confronting the front desk we were handed a can of roach spray and directed to use that as means to correct our problem. Upon using the contents of the spray we proceeded to find other roaches. The ironing board that we asked to be put in our room was lop sided and breaking. We called the front desk with all of these problems. They told us that " we are not going to make you happy so you can just come up here and get your money and leave" And then was hung up on!!! This was at 11pm. There was no way that we could find another hotel with a huge football game going on and get rested for the next day. The front desk then called back and offered us another room at which point she offered to switch us to a different room. I thought by then that I had killed all the roaches. I will never reccomend this hotel and never ever stay at it again!!!!!!

“Pass This By”

First, the hotel is no longer part of the Days Inn chain. It is now part of "America's Best Value Hotels". For good reason - it is no longer up to even Days Inn standards. When I walked into the room after check in, a cockroach crawled out from under the coffee maker. The trash had not been taken out from the previous day. The towels were literally the size and texture of dish towels. The room was dilapidated and worn out. Pass this hotel by, it is not worth it.

“No Towels, No Service”

There were burn marks all over the carpet because of cigarettes, the room didn't smell good, the room service knocked very rudely at our door very early in the morning and did not leave any towels. When we called the front desk to ask for towels they only had one (1) extra towel in the whole establishment, which we had to go and pick up. They were very matter of fact on the phone. Also, the day we were to check out, we asked for a late check out and the room service people knocked on our door before time and attempted to come in saying that it was already check out time, not taking into consideration our request for a late check out. Overall the service was bad and the employees were not at all helpful. Definately not going back to that hotel again

“Days Inn must be divorcing Alachua”

You would think a company as big as Days Inn would at least take care of the rotten wood - cracked tiles - lack of drapery cover - This hotel needs more than a face lift - it needs a total make over - I wasn't expecting too much because of your star rating - but even with that attitude - I was shocked.
