Very disappointed

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Bed was comfortable, staff was very nice.
Cons: Everything other than the bed and the staff could be improved.
Location: Shopping close by.
No internet or cable due to a storm that happened the day before. It could have been fixed quicker. No fridge or microwave, yet any other LaQuinta we have stayed in had both in our room. Breakfast was not good. Very disappointing.

Run down hotel, but excellent staff

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: The staff was superb
Cons: Finish the renovations.
I was scared when I first got the hotel room. The place seemed pretty run down. However, the room was clean and there was plenty of room. What made this hotel a great place to stay was the staff...it looked like LaQuinta has bought an older hotel and was working hard to re-model it. Ashleigh the Desk clerk was excellent. When we needed a rollaway bed, she personally brought it up herself. When we needed a phone book to find a pizza place to order, she had one as well as a handful of coupons (one of which we used). The breakfast next morning tasted very good. The people there were kind and helpful. The only few bad things were that, the hotel was pretty run down (probably from being so close to University of Florida and years of Gator fans trashing the place).

Smelly hotel going through renovatioms

Posted Mar 6, 2015
The first room the clerk out us in was in the 2nd building. When I opened the room door, the order knocked me down. It stunk so bad like musty paint thinner. I can't describe it. We asked for another room. We got one on the 4th floor of first building. It was a little better. We had 2 adults 2 children. The beds were way to small. They looked more like two full beds instead of doubles.

Older Hotel with older issues

Posted Feb 10, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Did not have as many breakfast options as other La Quintas that I have visited. Post no smoking signs.
Location: Close to the interstate, and the no far from food and the univeristy.
The main problem with this hotel is the outside corridors, which people use to smoke. The room was okay, but the bathroom smelled of smoke. I have stayed at other La Quinta hotels that were much nicer and would again.

Beds were fine. TV was great. Other, not so much

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Location. TV. Beds. Easy to use, free wi-fi.
Cons: Put towel rack in bathroom. A reachable plug in bedroom to charge tech stuff. Grab bar in shower. Second lock on door.
Location: Gainesville, FL. Only attended funeral and visited family.
Pretty bare bones, but that was OK. Room clean the first day, but left dirtier as each day went by. Left tip first two days to try and inspire better, but did not tip last day to send message. Toilet was sporadic in flushing. Room phones sometimes did not work with other rooms. Did not try outside calls. Wake up call was easy. Breakfast above my expectations.
