“A very pleasant stay in Gainesville, Fl.”

Loved the hotel but their dining room at breakfast time had poor service and cold food.

“Close to UF”

I saw the mixed reviews but decided to book. I'm very glad I did. Although there is no refrig or micro in room. Booked in the 2000 building, The room was very clean with moden furnishings and It looked great. It had a balcony with 2 chair and a view of the lake. Being so close to UF was the best part. Will always book for UF events.

“Very Solid Hotel”

The room was clean, the staff was friendly; they have a nice pool and our overall stay was great. The hotel is big and is in a couple of sections, so we stayed in "building 2" which was a bit inconvenient as far as getting to the main part of the hotel - where the pool was etc. The AC seems to be set-up to a certain level, so 60 degrees doesn't feel so much different than 70; but it was a very very hot day and that might be why it took so long for the room to cool off. At night it was perfect. They offer a Continental Breakfast for $3, we just went somewhere else to eat. The beds are really good and the pillows are extremely comfortable!!!!! For the price, this hotel was perfect. Very happy.

“Football game”

Great place, has a nice pool and bar inside. Breakfast service is very slow. The Florida football is staying there on Friday nights before the game

“Very friendly and accomodating staff”

The staff was very friendly. I had surgery at Shands and needed a close place to stay. The original room we were given was at the end of the hallway. I had surgery on my legs and it was too far to walk. The front desk staff changed our room in a timely manner that was very accomodating. They called the room to make sure that all was satisfactory. We needed additional pillows and wash cloths and they were delivered right away.

“Great Price, Clean Room, Close to Shands/VA”

From the outside the hotel appears a little rundown, however once you enter the lobby it is very nice. The front desk staff were extremely pleasant and I even got a free upgrade to a lake-view suite for booking online with expedia! The room was very clean and super spacious. The bed was a little firm but the pillows were very plush. The room even had a mini fridge, microwave, couch, desk, and two TV's. The one downside was the elevator which has like a 30-45 second delay before the doors open which can seem a little scary if you are not expecting it oh and the hallways were a little on the warm side. I stayed two nights and had a very pleasant experience.

“A Pleasant surprise”

The staff couldn't have been nicer. About ten minutes after going to room, got a phone call, wanting to know if there were any problems with the room. A first in any hotel I have stayed. Room was nicely decorated, new carpeting, comfortable beds, plush comforter. It is closer to Shands hospital than I thought. At the price you worried about the neighborhood. Its a nice area, Not far from UCF campus. They don't have mini fridge and microvawe, in regular rooms , I am sures there suites do. I would reccomend the Plaza to anyone I know without reservation.
