Nice 3 star hotel by U of FPosted Apr 16, 2015
We were very happy with our stay at Paramount Plaza. The price was right, the place was clean, it was quite close to U of F, which is why we came.

very disappointed with room & parking!!!Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: breakfast was great! bed very comfortable! mgt. acted quickly when we reported stopped-up drain upon arrival in room & also broken coffee maker.
Cons: needs overhead lighting In room-very dark!!! bathroom needs vent! remove unnecessary door to kitchen. needs dresser or something to put luggage on.
Location: gator ball!
what a disappointment for a suite! room very large but wasted space. 1. all furniture was filthy with dust. 2. couldn't sit on couch and look/read anything..no lights except dim ones beside bed. tried sitting at dining room table to read (no overhead light there either) had to sit up next to counter where coffee pot is! no lamps at each end of couch...but had extra large end tables..????? 3. bathroom should have been made larger when two rooms was made into one to form suite...separate part for toilet/tub possibly. 4. needs dresser/counter on wall beside t.v. with mirror so someone can put luggage/make-up on and use while someone else is using the closet-size bathroom. definitely not enough racks or counter to put luggage to be such a spacious room...so much wasted space! 5.never could figure out the reason for the half-door to the kitchenette..refrigerator door hit it every time it's opened. and why a dishwasher?...not dishes anywhere!! put some shelves there for snacks/drinks/food. 6. had to ride around and around to find parking space...awful!! thank goodness we are both physically able to walk a good distance...what about those that aren't!! need numbered spaces for people to match rooms possibly..especially for those with health issues. 7. enjoyed the delicious breakfast. 8. left pocket book behind....really appreciate call to let us know that it would be sent UPS next day. (thank goodness I had taken billfold out and had it with me in another bag)

Carpet in room needed replacing. Sink leaked.Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: The restaurant and the grounds and pool were lovely.
Cons: Defenitely needs to replace carpet in room and make them more sound proof.
Location: Easily accessible to the town and were we had to go. Staff gave excellent directions how to get to places.
The restaurant was good . Meals were inexpensive . Staff was fairly responsive to our needs. The door in the bathroom was chipped. Just felt that some refurbishing needed to be done in the room. Noise from adjoining rooms could be heard..The lobby and facilities were very nice. Pool and grounds were very pretty and peaceful.

Overall decent experience for the price. Room was clean except for a large stain on one of the two chairs. We only used our room to sleep.

Good horel in GainsvillePosted Mar 27, 2015
We stayed in this hotel to visit the University of Florida. The Hotel lobby and fitness center could use some remodeling. Our room was confortable and clean and the lobby staff were nice. There is a beautiful view of the lake from some of the rooms. It is some minutes away from U of F so a perfect spot if you plan to visit the University and it looks like it is the best Hotel in the area compared to all the Motel and cheap hotels there.
