Nice Hotel just off hwy visiting UF.Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Clean, we asked for extra bed and it was in the room with sheets and blanket when we checked in.
Cons: They are expanding the breakfast room but it was no issue while we were there.
Location: UF and plenty of shops and food places nearby.
We stayed at this hotel the year before and returned because it was clean and comfortable. There was no real down side. Free breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. We will be booking again as daughter is starting UF.

Highly recommendedPosted Jul 10, 2014
Location: University of Florida, Harn Museum of Art. Paynes Prairie, Micanopy & Blue Highway Pizzeria are only 12 miles south of Gainesville each place worth
Everything about the Sleep Inn & Suites University/Shands is excellent. Was especially surprised that all the rooms have a refrigerator and microwave which is perfect for an extended stay. We stayed for 4 nights while our granddaughter attended a lacrosse camp at the University of Florida in June. The price, location, quality and all staff members makes this the perfect hotel to stay at in Gainesville.

Okay hotel.Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The sweet and helpful staff who cared. Publix, old navy and target is right across the street for those emergency needs.
Cons: Clean up the canal of the litter. Fix the a/c.
Location: Antonio's made in Italy is a restaurant in Macintosh is Amazing! If you have time stop by the little historic town of micanopy and eat at Old FL cafe.
We stayed here traveling from Jacksonville headed toward the Tampa Bay Area. It was a nice hotel. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The room was comfortable but the ac was either freezing or warm. When we arrived in to the room, it was hot. The ac was not on. ( which is understandable if the room is empty) I turned it up and went out to dinner. Then I had to turn it up before bed because it was freezing at 72, and then get up in the middle of the night to turn it down because it was too hot at 74. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The view we had was kind of gross. We faced the canal, but seeing an alligator in it from our second floor window was worth it.

Okay for the pricePosted Jun 7, 2014
Pros: Professional and friendly staff
Cons: Privacy fencing between Sleep Inn and Motel 6
Hotel staff was very efficient and pleasant despite the lobby area being renovated. Privacy fencing would be a major benefit for safety (Motel 6 next to the property had "shady" guests the night we stayed). Overall, good experience. Great breakfast!

A good choice.Posted May 26, 2014
Location: We enjoyed the UF Museum, Butterfly Pavillion, and seeing the bats begin their "day" at the Bat houses across from Alice Pond.
In town for a graduation at UF (held at Phillips Center for Performing Arts). Hotel was easy to find, close to restaurants, Target, Starbucks. Breakfast is provided, however I did not take advantage of it and therefore do not have any comments. Hotel staff were great; very friendly and helpful. Room was nice size and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Pool is not anything special, but clean and served the purpose.

Better than mostPosted May 12, 2014
We stayed for 2 nights. The facility is nice. Only drawback was housekeeping. Our rooms were not made up despite the housekeeper asking us if we needed it. I told her yes, and left a tip. All she did was empty one trashcan.
