Low cost for staying multiple days with a pet.

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Cost for having a pet for multiple days was great compared to other options.
Cons: Fresh fruit w/ breakfast. Boiled eggs were cold. 1of the waffle timers didn't activate. What came out of the orange juice dispenser wasn't OJ.
Location: Location was conveniently located by highway 20 with several fast food options and a HyVee nearby.
Staff were friendly. Breakfast that came with the room was very meager. Stains in carpet, dust on floor and back of room. Heat was turned off by cleaning staff. We came back in and room was cold. Visited when temperatures outside we in the teens and 20s.

Breakfast was low on items, room and hall vents dirty! The girl in the breakfast area seemed very unhappy to be working there!

Conveniently close to family.

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: We liked the hotel because it was close to family. The breakfast was very good and the front desk people was nice.
Cons: Housekeeping needs to be retrained in how to clean rooms. Clean behind the bathroom door better and DUST. The carpet needs to be vacuumed every day.
Location: At first the hotel was hard to find because of the was it's sitting.
We stayed here because it was only 10 minutes from my sister's house. The front desk people were very pleasant and worked with us to get the rooms we wanted, since our daughter was with us we wanted connecting rooms. My husband's and my room was clean at first glance but then we saw a Box Elder Bug dead on top of the TV. We left it there thinking housekeeping would take care of it the next day. Second day, bug was still there and the rug wasn't vacuumed. Third day the floor was vacuumed but our bug was still there and we did mention it to the head of housekeeping that morning. Needless to say "our bug" was there the whole 4 days we stayed. We did tell the front desk the day we checked out. The breakfast was great, well supplied and clean. The only problem was the lady working in the room was not very pleasant. My daughter handed her some tongs that had fallen on the floor and she throw them behind her. But all in all our rooms was comfortable and we made a game out of the bug.

Needs a lot of attention!

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: Location, and accomodations and breakfasts in the past.
Cons: See above
Location: It was handy to get where we wanted to go and easy access to our route.
We were welcomed into our room with a shield beetle on the ceiling, the grout in shower were not very clean, and the carpet needs a cleaning, as well as the floors in the toilet and powder room. The chairs were dirty looking as well. The fan was very noisy on the heater. Just needs a whole lot of cleaning and updating. We have been staying at this hotel a few years now with the Natl. Toy Convention, but not consecutively, but found out it has really gone down hill with upkeep. We won't be staying there next time.

Day's Inn in Dubuque

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: Liked the proximity to the hospital and the staff were friendly. Room was adequate and clean.
Cons: Breakfast could include fresh fruit and milk. The rooms and place in general had that "slightly worn out" look to the rooms.but was okay.
Location: Close to hospitals and west end of town.
Was close to the hospital and an "ok" place to stay. I was disappointed because I found out we could have received a much better rate since we were there to visit the hospital if I had booked directly with the manager, rather than going through Expedia online...in other words, I would have saved money by booking directly through the Day's Inn. The room was all right, since we were just there to visit a hospital patient. Did not care for the room's heating system, which blew air that was not comfortable, so kept shutting that off and on (on when we got cold). The complimentary breakfast was also okay, with no fruit, which was disappointing, but the waffles were really good. Staff was nice and friendly.

Days Inn of Dubuque

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: The room was clean, the people friendly, the breakfast food good.
Cons: The gas smell and the smoke smell.
Location: We came for a college event.
All things were fine with 3 exceptions: 1) We didn't realize it was an outside walk to our room. That was OK but if it were cold, snowy or rainy, it may have been a problem. 2) In the stairwell where the washing machine, dryer, pop and ice machines were located, it smelled of gas. 3) Though a smoke-free room, when first standing by the bed, it seemed to smell faintly of smoke. But, the room was clean, the people friendly, the breakfast food good.
