thought it would be better

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: not much, but the food was ok in the sports bar next door
Cons: redo the rooms, get better tv programing, charge half what the rate is now
Location: next door to a dog racing track
Just in town to spend one night. searched on line to find a nice place to relax and enjoy some company. The room was clean and decorated ok but it felt more like a Super 8 instead of a Hilton. The hallway noise sounded like my door was left open, the bed had memory foam top to it that was very lumpy, the air conditioner was very noisy, the tv was almost imposible to change channels on. The sports bar in the casino had good food, but the cigarette smoke was heavy, I wish smoking was banned in all eating places. The room cost was ***.**, I have stayed at many other places and had a better room for half the cost. I would not recommend this place nor would I stay here again

Cons: I think for the cost of this hotel a breakfast could be included.
Stayed one night. It was a stop before continuing on to Omaha, NE. It does adjoin to the casino if you are a gambler.

Pleasant but not pleasing

Posted May 13, 2014
The hotel staff was very polite and helpfull, the room was comfortable and clean when we got there. Decided to stay an extra night and the maid service was just to make the bed. They did not clean the bathroom or empty garbage.. They did take care of it after complaining. Coffee maker was broken in room and after telling them they said someone would look at it but never did. They have coffee in the lobby, but like to have the first cup before I need to get dressed to go to the lobby. All and all if was an okay experience.

Not comfortable bed

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: Location, but no rooms with a view
Cons: Start with updating the rooms
The bed left me in a hole, trying to get out in the morning. Everything just seemed to be a bit old, worn out.

Nice clean hotel. Great location.

We stayed at this hotel because it was located next to the casino and had a Houlihans. Hotel was clean and well decorated. Rooms were large and clean Although the walls sound like they are paper thin. I was awakened around 2am with loud talkers next to us. This though is a common problem in hotels these days. They are not built like they use to be. The second problem was the bed. My wifes side sunk towards the middle while I felt it was a little firm. Upon checkout we find out it was a select comfort bed. Had no idea. The front desk told is that Hilton took the placards out of the rooms that said it was a select comfort bed. Why would they do that? Overall i would stay here again if i was in the area. Now I know how to get a better nights sleep!

Convenient location.

We stayed in the hotel after spending the day skiing at Sundown in Dubuque. The hotel is conveniently connected to a casino and restaurant, which is great during the winter. The room was very clean and updated. The staff were ok, but not overwhelmingly friendly. I would definitely stay here in the future.

Great hotel

Second time I have stayed at this hotel while in town for a hockey tournament and can not say enough of how great this hotel is. From clean and comfortable rooms, to amazing staff that are friendly and very helpful with questions about the area, clean pool and hot tub area as well. Very convenient for hockey teams in town as the ice arena is located right across the street. Again a great hotel in all aspects and highly recommend.

New Years Eve

Posted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: I loved that even last minute I was able to find this hotel at a reasonable price. The room was big and clean!
Location: Houlihan's for dining and Mystic Casino for entertainment!
Decided last minute to find a nice place with activities for New Years Eve, that wouldn't break the bank. Decided on this hotel in Dubuque Iowa. It was very nice and clean with a resturaunt connected to one side and casino connected on the other side. We were able to enjoy our evening and never had to venture out in the snow!

Pros: Comfortable bed. Pool area.
Cons: Lower price breakfast.
Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, nice warm pool. Relaxing fireplace in lobby. Breakfast is way too expensive. Overall a very pleasant stay.
