Dubuque

Pros: Not much!! All the entrances were on the outside of the building, the ice machine and snack machine was on another level...
Cons: I think at the very least, they need to make sure all the basic items work well. The air conditioning, heaters, drains, lights, TV, faucets, showers.
Location: this unit was in Dubuque, IA., on the west side of town. There was shopping centers, restaurants and not terribly far from the downtown area.
We arrived at the hotel around 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. Went into the lobby, got our key card and then proceeded to locate our room. The desk clerk did give us directions as to how to find it. Went in with our luggage and turned the heat on in the room. We then decided to find dinner somewhere, so we locked things back up again and took off. When we returned approx. one hour later, it was still extremely cold in the room. We messed with the controls for a period of time, but could never get the unit to blow warm air. I called the front desk and the little clerk said she would get maintenance up to look at it. After about 20-30 minutes the clerk calls back and asks if we would mind moving to another unit, which we were more than happy to do. It is now going on 7:30 -8:00 pm. So, we load everything back up in the car and go to the lobby to exchange key cards. We unload everything again and start trying to get comfortable. Naturally, the first thing we do is try the heater... this one works! Yeah!! I then go to the sink to brush my teeth and I CANNOT get the faucet to work (it was the type that one has to pull on to get water). I pull and pull and I cannot get it to budge, after some time I was finally able to get it to work... now the drain doesn't work. All in all I will NEVER stay at another Motel 6.

Wi-fi was unreliable. This motel was very, very tired. Room was clean, mattress was terrible. All in all, it was barely satisfactory. Will not stay there if I am in the area again. Cheap, but not a bargain.

Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Rooms need some updating and cleaning. Just another old run down hotel that the owners are neglecting.
Booked two rooms at the hotel for a family event and the hotel staff thought it was one room that got double booked. Was told there was only one room available but then mysteriously another room appeared. Got to the room and our first reaction was to look for bed bugs and thankfully found none. The rooms are poorly maintained, no coffee, shampoo or other extras, just a bar of soap.

Pros: Cheap. Clean. Handy.
One night stay. Was golfing in Galena, Il and wanted a cheap place to stay overnight. It was a quick 20 minute drive to Dubuque, and was easy to find. Bed was comfortable and clean. Guy in next room was constantly on the phone yakking away until 3 AM, which might've really bothered a light sleeper.

Cons: deodorize the rooms
Location: On a commercial strip, gas a food is near by.
When I picked the low price option, it got what I expected. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was smelly.
