“Weekend Stay”

Further out of Galena and further from Dubuque than we thought. Beds were very hard--pulled down from wall so there was no box spring. Room was clean and we loved the view! The hotel was pretty quiet and clean.

“An unforgettable stay”

The studio was very clean, the room has a great interior design with a huge bathroom and Jacuzzi. Balcony was a great addition. The swallows were flying at my level. The hotel is very quiet and they have a quiet time during the night which other hotels don't; this is a big plus. The only minor complaint is the lack of shampoo, so pack your own or travel a few miles to Eagle Ridge resort store. I would stay here again.

Eagle ridge resort (this hotel is not part of it), and downtown Galena.

Getting there

AT&T coverage is terrible in the Galena area. Make sure you have roaming agreements before going there or a standalone GPS for navigation. Verizon coverage is much better there.

“"will return"”

Very nice and clean, comfortable. Only thing next time I would make sure to get a room without a murphy bed. Murphy bed was not very comfortable if you have back problems. Otherwise place was great. We would stay again in a room with a regular bed.

“Will definitely go again”

Very satisfied. Our room was very clean, everything operated as it should have, and it was quiet. Pool and jacuzzi on site, and will definitely stay there again. We stayed in a room with a Murphy bed, the comfort of which was only ok, but that is to be expected. Near Galena - quaint little town, which would be a great gals weekend too. I went with my husband and even liked it. Near Chestnut Mountain, which is a cute downhill ski place. We skied and had a ball there. Also, it's 20 minutes from Dubuque - it you like casinos, there are 2 newly renovated ones there - Diamond Joe's and Mystique. Both are 10 minutes from one another.

Near Galena - quaint little town, which would be a great gals weekend too. I went with my husband and even liked it. Near Chestnut Mountain, which is a cute downhill ski place. We skied and had a ball there. Also, it's 20 minutes from Dubuque - it you like casinos, there are 2 newly renovated ones there - Diamond Joe's and Mystique. Both are 10 minutes from one another.

When to go

It's a great winter getaway if you like skiing, shopping in Galena, or gambling at casinos. Just watch the weather! It's a rural area and not a big city, so if there is snow and ice on the roads, you need to be cautious if driving out.

“Comfortable, great atmosphere, terrific and helpful staff!”

I would definitely go back here if in the Galena area again. The resort has great accomedations and a enjoyable atmospheres. The staff makes you feel very comfortable and go out of their way to help you or get answers for any questions you have. The rooms were clean, spacious, and the jacuzzi and fireplace were a nice touch. Overall, excellent experience and would recommend to anyone looking to stay near Galena, but looking for a relaxing resort/hotel a little away from town.

“can't wait to return”

it was great we were 5-10 min from galena,our room was a studio which had been recently redecorated and was very clean.room had fridge,microwave,hot plate dishes and utencils,bbq was outside swimming pool area,views were great.room had a whirlpool tub,boom box,tv,dvd player.

Area recommendations

main street galena has all the restaurants and shops. most building date from the mid 1800s and every weekend something is happenning. our weekend was octoberfest.

“I'll be back.”

Very nice resort and excellent location. We had more than expected. The studio with the murphy, the fireplace, the jacuzzi, and the balcony was all what we needed with my spouse.

“just as it shoulb\d be”

facility was clean,quiet and very friendly. room was clean,attractive and comfortable. loved the fireplace and jacuzzi and the balcony[even though it was raining and we could not use the balcony every day]. we took advantage of the pool ,game room and exercise room and all were great. we do plan on staying there again .
