quiet and comforting

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: location convenience
Cons: The pool could be heated a little bit and an exercise room could be equipped
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Red Lion Hotel in Gallup New Mexico. It was pleasantly quiet with no disturbing Traffic or other noises. The rooms were great, clean with plenty of space.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel, poor water pressure in sink outside of bathroom, comfy clean beds, no elevator, average breakfast, easy to get to off freeway.

pet friendly, yes, area for pets no

Pros: convenient to freeway
Cons: Rooms need to be updated, breakfast really needs to be improved. Room rate was not equal to what they offered.
Room was dated, old tv , beds were not that comfortable. The free breakfast was bad.... , I would have rather paid to eat a good meal somewhere.

Not worth the cost

Posted Aug 10, 2014
The pictures on-line make the hotel look much nicer and newer than it actually is. The beds are worn in the middle, the showers are old, and my door stuck when I would try to open it. The breakfast is "warm" but tastes like mass produced food of low quality. They have a pool, but it was not open and no attempt was made to fix it during the 3 days that I was there. Not worth the higher price compared to the surrounding hotels.

We didn't stay. This hotel is on skid row.

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: tear it down
Location: Terrible old run down part of skid row
We didn't stay. The hotel is on skid row. Terrible run down, closed down part of town. No cars in the parking lot. Both hotels on either side are boarded up. I tried to cancel but it was too late per the hotel staff (5:20 pm). There is a train switching station across the street. The hotel might have been nice 40 years ago, but it is a dump. It was worth losing the money to not stay in the hotel. This hotel should not be available to anyone. it is in a very dangerous part of town.

Restaurant is to open @ 6:00 am but doesn't open until 7:00 even though sign says 6:00 , had to buy breakfast Sat and Sun an additional $100.00 due to pore staff management . Was told children had to be accomodated by an adult even though one of my children is 17 years old .!!!!!!!! NOT HAPPY AT ALL WONT STAY OR RECOMMEND TOO ANYONE BAD STAFF

Pros: location
Cons: The breakfast was not done well. Everyone had to wait for hot entrees, and there were no bowls for oatmeal, etc. Staff for that was not friendly.
Location: Gallup is kind of a center for visiting the nearby Nat'l Monuments and parks. Chaco Canyon is fabulous1
The hotel is dated, but did have large rooms. The hotel is convenient to a few good restaurants, and is a good spot for exploring around Gallup.
