After a long drive in a hot summer day I was expecting to arrive to a perfectly working AC. This was not the case, plus the room had a "smell" that never went away

Overall my stay at this hotel went well. I was pleased with the room (the beds were super comfortable), and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever I had questions or concerns.

Fair being the main description in Fairfield

Overcharged us. Almost impossible to get to unless you go through other parking lots. Can't get breakfast unless you wait in line for an hour. Not secure. Side entry was always open, didn't need a key card. Broken glass door in pool area. Upon arrival at 2am, was treated as bothersome. Elevator broke. Had to replenish own supplies, though housekeeping was awesome otherwise. It's a place to stay, but I would not recommend for more than a night or two.

Very nice place in a less than special area

Good points- great beds, cold A/C, nice bathroom, comfy chairs. We were in town for a funeral, so we only stayed one night. The location is convenient in that it is right off the highway. But access was difficult. Had to drive through the ghost town mall parking lot to find the front of the hotel. Texas City isn't your scenic vacation destination, but if you need a good place to stay if you have to be there, the Fairfield is probably one of the best choices in town.
