“Good hotel, but a few things needs to be fixed”
I enjoyed my stay at the Harbor House, but there were a few things that could easily be rectified. No forks are offered at breakfast. Spoons and knives, but no forks! I think most people eat their pastries with a fork. Also, on the third floor someone has carved their initials, etc. into a table right as you exit the elevator. Not very classy and nothing like the rest of the hotel. I would fix it or get another table. Something else that is needed are the No Disturb signs. The maid came every morning and wanted to clean, but I wasn't ready. She was very nice about it, but it was a bit of a disturbance. The front desk ladies were very helpful and friendly.
“Locked out...”
Locked out of room...twice!!!! This place needs a face lift!!!
“not worth the money”
the hotel itself was ok at best but was in no way worth what we payed. The worst was the hotel lot was full so there was no parking.
“Fantastic Customer Service”
We arrived and our room was not ready. In order to compensate for this, the fromt desk person gave us our cruise parking for one week (two vehichles), at no charge. Very nice. The front desk person was calm and cool and friendly even though she was bombarded with many customers at a time. If anything, the hotel management would do best to change their staffing polocies. The room was very nice and comfortable. Would definitely rec. this hotel to others.
“a dolphin view”
Our room was facing the inlet of the ocean and we saw he dolphins jumping right off he boardwalk, and then they have a boat to go out... it was amazing and this hotel is clean and convient
“Nice hotel for reasonable rate, great location”
The hotel is located on a pier over the water on the bay side of the island. We had a great corner king room that was really big. Windows facing North (water) and West (marina). Good size sitting area but nothing fancy. The hotel is located in the historic district of Galveston, walking distance to a couple museums, many resturants/bars, cruise terminal and shopping on the Strand. It is the only hotel that I am aware of that has over night boat parking. We arrived on a 38ft sailboat. Tiny lobby and front desk was a little weird. I was a little disappointed in the free breakfast which was in a 2nd floor lobby not the resturant. Only coffee, juice, cerial and pastries.
“Honeymoon”
my husband and i stayed one night before parting for our cruise. The hotel was clean nice, and on directly on the pier. We walked at dawn and felt confortable and secure. Cruise is in walking distance. We parked at hotel for cheaper cost than cruise parking. Nice restraunt with in walking distance. (fishermans's warf) best seafood we have eated. Loved this hotel and definatly look forward to coming back on my anniversary!
“Very unsatisfied :(”
The only positive detail about this place is that it's located next to the cute shopping area(not right next door to Hotel Galvez like the receptionist stated though, more like 20 blocks). No pool, not much offered for breakfast, musty smell in the room, beds were uncomfortable, roaches were found around the room& tub, you have to pay add'l to park your vehicle there every day, and can't expect much from housekeeping or room service.
“Great stay!-”
The rooms were great! Great view of the harbor! There was a wedding going on there the first night and we could hear everything! Besides that great stay, i would highly recommend it!
“very comfortable and clean..”
the beds were very nice. the room was comfortable and clean. it was right on the harbor nice view. the strand was across the street. best stay in galveston we have had..
